Playing digital media on the TV: what's the best option?
noisyandy replied to noisyandy's topic in Computer & Tech Chat
Thanks for all the replies, very useful! I like the look of the WD TV Live, shame about lack of BBC iPlayer but there you go. The Boxees seem to be retailing at about £200! If I was being greedy and wanted something that could record off the TV as well, what would be my best option? -
Anyone here able to help us? Our tumble dryer has gone on the blink; we did have it in the shed where it worked fine, but moved it inside this week to a more convenient space under the stairs. Ever since, it's been tripping the main fuse box after a second's use. I've been told it's probably a simple earthing fault but I can't see any loose wires - not that I know a thing about electrics mind! I had arranged for Easysnr from this site to come round to have a look, but he first rearranged then simply failed to show and wouldn't answer his phone , so is there anyone else who can help me?

You're right, it could be Moron Delight Day with large numbers of all 3 sets of fans around. I think I'll stick to either watching the game at a mate's, a local pub, or BDTBL. Might be wise to avoid the City Centre as much as possible!

There's a guy on the Bladesunited messageboard called Raul who is in the cake-making business, might be worth paying ot a visit and asking him...

There's loads of posts about him on this forum already. Most suggest that he is a local man with learning difficulties who spends his days walking the same journey every day come rain or shine. He lives at home with parents, and is happy doing what he does. Fair play to the man. -

Would this be the same Pakistani state which is currently mounting a large offensive against the Taliban? http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/apr/27/taliban-swat-valley-peace-collapse "This is why I am openly racist toward a country that allows such atrocities to happen to its own people, no wonder that they have no regard for anyone else bar themselves...." Which is just how the neighbours who used to make snide remarks to my Northern Irish catholic mother in the 80s justified their bigotted and hurtful abuse.

it's called customer service and it's what they're paid to do. It would be like me whingeing about a student expecting me to help with applying to college just because I'm a Connexions adviser. -
She'd be the first on the boat! Her, Tony Blair, Nadine Dorries, Jonathan "hop skip and jump is not a real sport" Edwards, Cliff Richards and Mel Sugar Tits Gibson.

As Nimrod says, the police have always used informers. I don't get the gist of the Grauniad article. Coppers have always used insiders to exchange info for cash, we wouldn't have a police drama TV industry without it! Or is it only ok as long as it doesn't involve Tarquin's trustafarian eco-political warriors?

I agree with you about God, England. I think anyone who believes in any deity should be shipped off somewhere else. Those bloody Anglicans and the like do my nut.

I can see how your impartiality is reflected in your avatar. Do you think we are all that stupid to think that someone who chooses to be represented by a BNP rosette is actually an impartial and non-affiliated observer? You're more deluded than I thought.
