  1. Whereabouts in S6 you wanting, there's a lebanese place - Rowsha - on South Road, Walkley I think is open.
  2. Hi, I've been on iron a fair bit and the tablets make the world of difference. I've never thrown up from them but they do hurt my tummy a bit. It's often a good idea to keep taking some iron supplement after the course of tablets you've been given finishes - I find if I don't I just go anaemic again. If it's really bad on your tummy you can get some iron solutions from holland & barratt that aren't as harsh. Good luck - I noticed the difference in two weeks (I could run again!) Jayne
  3. I don't cycle much any more but did a lot as a teenager (now I drive or walk). I've no great gripe with cyclists and hope that I treat them with consideration. I do think there should be some form of test though, maybe not something compulsory but something available. Just because of the way I used to cycle before I learnt to drive (ie. learnt the highway code, where drivers might not see me, to predict what they might do). I did my cycling proficiency age 9 but after that all the instruction I ever got was a few pointers from my parents. I think I probably did most of the things suggested: going round people, skipping lights, going on the pavement when the road got a bit crap, also cycling with a walkman on which has to be dangerous. To be fair I was probably more a danger to myself.
  4. I think I'd get the train too. Treviso is about an hour on a bus from Venice (it's where ryanair fly to I think). It's quite a slow hour (traffic) and you'd have to leave a fair bit of time.
  5. you could try hallamshire harriers, on a tuesday or thursday night. Various groups of different speeds. Meet just before 6 in the clubhouse just in hillsborough park, at the end of hawksley avenue.
  6. Either King Edwards School - on Clarkehouse Road or the university pool. I think they're both the same price - the first is probably nearer. They both do lengths. I've only swum once at king edwards but the university pool doesn't get many kids in (and there's a sauna and steam room).
  7. you could go from the bole hills down to rivelin valley and walk all the way along there into the peaks. It's good
  8. Generally reasonably healthy; porridge or muesli. Quite often have toast with Jam or peanut butter though (not together) but I have been known to have trifle, cake and apple crumble. The other day we had a cream tea for breakfast, yum.
  9. There is a lift for disabled users. For all standing concerts a riser is built for disabled persons - so you can see. Not sure whether you should state disabilities when buying tickets - guess that 's probably not a bad thing to do anyway.
  10. yep non students can use goodwin (uni) pool. I think it's 3.60 - including the sauna and steam room try http://www.usport.co.uk for times and stuff (sorry if I get the link wrong)
  11. I've been to the women's only before (there was a time when women and men's only were free). It was quite busy (being free might have been something to do with it though). They only had women working and closed the viewing gallery. Consider that some women are not allowed to show there body to men for religious reasons and some just don't want to - I think it is fairly popular at any time.
  12. I think evildrneil is right - there used to be a men's hour and a women's hour but the men's hour wasn't busy so they stopped it. I've a feeling there were signs up saying that it wasn't going to be stopped and if people had views against it they should speak to someone.
  13. has anyone any remote idea how much damp proofing the kitchen in an end terraced house would be? It's not a big house, kitchen is about 11' by 11'. Any info would be a help.
  14. I've noticed the 94 (thought the bus driver had got the number wrong the first time) what's the difference between the 94 & 95? Yes 95 for walkley doesn't go through netherthorpe
