  1. Chavs! Would they have stopped a couple of bigger, older blokes, or do they just bully ladies laden with shopping?
  2. I recently popped in to enquire about a jacket alteration. The assistant serving was fine, but some grumpy-faced blonde sat behind her, with a guy with pirecings, was very unwelcoming and dour. Good luck for keeping existing/drumming up more business.
  3. I wondered if anyone else had had experience of him? I had doubts so declined. Just asking!
  4. Exactly, Pixie! Cheers. Might be a case of ebay?
  5. I'm after a casual soft leather jacket, nothing rubbishy but in the style of 'Life on Mars'? On ebay they're about £150 usually, is there a good Sheffield shop?
  6. Yes, he was quoting about £80 for the base and mattress?
  7. Has anyone ever been approached by a guy from (?Manchester) driving a Luton-sized van, asking if you want to buy his new and sealed stock cheaper (£80 for 2 joinable bases and k/sized mattress) than the shops? I was a few months back, (i declined, wondering why he didn't sell it here/ebay etc but drove around) and wondered if anyone else had been?
  8. Thanks, Miss, it's been a while since I was 'in the loop' as it were. Where is a good and economical place to get decent quality prints done these days?
  9. The debate about Brunanburh (937) goes on and on, the Catcliffe site - and the Humber landing- as detailed in Michael Wood's 1981 series has largely been superceded by scholars in favour of the Bromborough site in the West. The effects of the great victory at Brunanburh were shortlived, as Athelstan died only two years later in 939, and his Dublin-Norse enemy, Olaf Guthrithson, led yet another, successful, invasion of York and middle-England in 940, occupying the Five Boroughs.
  10. Thanks, Miss, I'll look at that site. I have a mixture of original work and high-quality prints, do they accept both?
  11. Which are the best places for amateur artists to try to make a few £? I'm an amateur illustrator who has a few historically-related pencil drawings. I'm considering galleries locally, but mostly online sales which reach a wider audience. Cheers
  12. I'm thinking of trying to get a poem published and would like feedback, but am unwilling to post it online first. Should I just risk sending it direct to a publisher?
  13. I have something similar on my Ace- in some places I try to open a webpage, only to be directed to BT openspot?? So unticking the above gives you access to the net as normal? Or just a load of other networks who charge you for the priviledge because the Talkmobile net is 'down' in that spot?
  14. I think I know who you mean. If it's the same guy, complete cheesy pillac!
