  1. bad diagnosis i'd say looks like you paid for a fan when all you needed was an air pressure switch
  2. agree with steve Mr peacock is your man not sure if andy (complete heat) or mickey et are solar yet regards Phil
  3. very much sounds like your expansion vessel or your filling loop is passing. easy test to do just remove your filling loop the one where you re-pressurise your boiler carefully undo one nut at a time if water is flowing through this then your filling loop is passing there will be a bit of water come out as you try this so get a bowl or simular underneath ,if this is ok then it is most likely your expansion vessel. here to help regards phil P.S you will need to bleed a radiator or switch the heating off to reduce your pressure
  4. your meter reader should not have touched your meter but if you smell gas ring 0800111999 immediately Regards Phil
  5. without looking at the job i would definately be looking at the fan on this boiler, only your mention of loud clicking noises could point to the PCB board, not much inside these boilers to go wrong, but the fan on this model are prone to giving up the ghost, simple test as you know your pump is running turn on your boiler and listen to hear for the fan running, pump, fan, gas, ignition, boiler fires, simples.parts are readily available for this boiler unless you are looking at changing it. Kind Regards Phil
  6. Not being presumtious or anything but should this have been sorted out before any work was undertaken, building regs and all that. kind regards Phil
  7. worked on british gas contract years ago upgrading meters came across many pre payment meters that customers wanted changing,i think they had to pay a small charge to have them replaced, but it seems things have changed.a small charge will still save you money in the long run as you are paying premium rate for your gas on a pre payment meter opposed to what offers you can get on a normal gas meter tariff, search the internet there are many offers online from all the leading gas companies, just say that X company has offered you this and can you beat it,be a bit cheeky they will more than likely match it or beat it,but i didnt tell you this LOL
  8. fished this a couple of times in the last couple of weeks, top pond fish a chuck with Ide up to 3lb plus. top 3 or across either chopped worm and caster or just maggot found maggot on top 3 produced better ide but need plenty of maggots bottom pond swimstim paste at 6/8 metres producing carp every put in with odd Ide nothing big carp to 12oz but every cast makes it worthwhile, plus owner is a nice chap, who is willing to help you out,and no he does not sponser us LOL depth on top pond we had maybe 2 foot pegs 7 and 8 i think to edge of island bottom pond corner furthest away from path 3/4 foot it slopes gradually found that the softer the paste the quicker the bites
  9. I think the OP will have had his gas hob sorted by now Lee, the thread is nearly 3 years old:hihi: regards Phil
  10. Also dont be too harsh on your gas engineer as intermittent faults are hard to diagnose unless it happens while you are thereon site, WD 40 is a definite no no on a fan the only time we would use this is to free a siezed fan to get it working while we can order a new one just to get the heating and hot water working, Kind regards Phil
  11. the boiler in question does look like the pilot is blowing sideways on start up, this is normal as the pilot assembly is at a angle to ignite your burner, get the guy back out to check your pilot assembly for any blockages, if all ok then you need to be looking at the fan or the APS,fans on these boilers do go not as a fault but just due to wear and tear as the boiler is a few years old. Kind Regards Phil
  12. come on guys the OP has asked a serious question, but i do know a gardener that can dig big holes in a garden.
