  1. Did you ask me about this axle when you fixed my gearbox last week, If so I was a bit off at the time, but I may have an idea about it, let me know and I'll pop in and have a chat!
  2. Spring manufacturer at bottom of Rutland Rd, go down the hill to the traffic lights where Cannon Brewery used to be, turn Left, and immediately on your left(Blue doors). Possibly only make coil springs, but they should be able to point you in the right direction.
  3. IIRC, the Hague family had a falling out a few years ago, so maybe one member is stopping the others out of spite.
  4. Yep. that's it, was still a childrens home in 80's as my mate lived on the nearest farm and had sheep on the moor behind, also went to school with the wardens daughter.
  5. do you meant the old Methodist Chapel that is now STEP(?) opposite Lidl
  6. Ah, different one, the one I know lived in Wharncliffe Side.
  7. I know a Pete Wragg, who went to PGS, but it would have been 60s rather than 50s.
  8. Looks more like a NG TF to me, the Marlin has a raked grille.
  9. there used to be a place at Heeley manufactured the handles, turn up at side of Manhattan motorcycles(if they're still there) and it's up there on the right, in a little yard. I used to deliver the sheets of materials to them
  10. probably a feeder/header dam for the old brickworks, seem to remember it being drained after 2007 as the wall moved.
  11. roadworks are for reinforcement/ piling/netting the bank just above where the lane goes down to the tunnel, have seen queues 2 miles long to them, if I need to be in Manchester for anytime after 0730, it's a 6 start for me from Wincobank, rather be there early and wait, than be late and end up rushing!!
  12. The thing is the victim was not crossing the road, but walking along the pavement where everybody will be walking if they put a crossing at the lights, as the petition says a railing is needed. Coming from the city the traffic queue can build up from the lights to a point where there is a loss of view from around the corner due to vegetation, seen a few cars come round there and have to screech to a halt, narrowly missing the back of the queue, it only takes one not to be quite on the ball, and they're either into the back of the queue, across the white lines and head on, or across and down the bank!
  13. I assume by "Urban Clearway" they actually mean National speed limit signs. I drive this road up to 5 times a week, the speed limit is 60 on the section from M1 J35A to top end of Stocksbridge, where the speed limit changes to 50, with 2 sections at 40, Through Midhopestones(where there is a crossroads), and through Langsett village(where again there are side roads). It's all quite simple as long as you know what the signs mean, which the poster and his GF obviously don't!
