  1. Yeh I found that but no change
  2. The fonts on my laptop have screwed up royally, does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? All the system fonts are like this, though fonts in some programs ie IE & Firefox are ok. Everything in Chrome is completely unreadable. I did/changed/installed nothing, although I did get an error on logging on just before it went wrong, saying 'Windows could not connect to the group policy client service.' Rebooted comp and could logon fine, but then the fonts were broken. Tried a system restore but it couldn't complete it Screenshot
  3. Thanks guys, from some googling I'm pretty sure it's the inverter. Apparently that's where the fault is if you can make out the picture if you shine a torch at an angle on the black screen, which I can. Going to speak to LG and see what they say. ETA : Looks like I misread, it's the backlight that's out if I can still see the images, which makes more sense. LG were lovely and helpful... suggested I try the Yellow Pages
  4. I've got a 42" LG tv (think it's LED) - about 18 months old, and the past couple of days it's had a few episodes where the screen goes black. The sound stays on, and if I press the TV guide button it goes quiet so presumably has gone to the menu fine, I just can't see anything. Changing channels etc doesn't do any good, but if I turn the TV off and on again, it comes back normally. Only doing it occasionally so far, but assuming it can only get worse! Anyone have any ideas what this could be, and whether I'm looking at an expensive repair job at some point in the future?
  5. Just thought I'd ask because I've just seen one on the main road between Ridgeway and the crossroads. I was driving so only got a glimpse but saw a medium sized dog on the pavement, looked like he was on his own, and possibly limping. I did turn the car around but he'd already disappeared. As I say, only saw him for a second, could be that he was actually with someone, went into one of those houses etc but as I couldn't find him and check I thought I'd post here in case. (I keep saying him, I don't know - just saw it was maybe lab sized, don't think it was very chunky though, and probably brown. Sorry for the vague post
  6. Not seen them at a wedding but stumbled upon Highway Child in West st live last year, and loved them! Think they'd be a real crowdpleaser
  7. Bugger, am heading to Norfolk on Friday for the weekend Would've liked the chance to see something
  8. Ok, Spiders 1, spider repeller 0 Luckily vacuum was on hand to save the day, but not impressed
  9. Does the clicking noise drive you mad? Mine is so loud... not seen any spiders since though, so should be grateful I suppose!
  10. There's a fair on at Graves, trouble there perhaps?
  11. Well if you have nothing really tying you to Portsmouth, why not? Try out somewhere completely new
  12. Mazy, I'm from Sheffield but spent 4 years in Ports - the only thing I miss is the sea, on days like this hehe. May be biased but prefer Sheffield overall, definitely
  13. Has anyone lost their Sky signal? Got no real storm in s20, but my Sky says no satellite signal, and I'm hoping I can blame it the weather, as I've just been fiddling with wires and think I broke something! :s
  14. Well maybe stop with the food, just keep track of all sightings so you know where he's hanging around, and then once you get the trap, break out the smelly, tempting food and just wait for him to find it. Sounds like he's wandering all over, so sooner or later he'll cross the trap's path, and touch wood once he's found it he'll fall for it
