  1. I was merely trying to reassure the patient that their "dailymailparanoea syndrome" (irrational fear of brown people) is entirely curable with a good dose of logic and common sense.
  2. Yes. I gave a homeless woman 5 Euros this afternoon and got a copy of the fortnightly newspaper they were selling on the street -- they get half the cover price for each one sold. So they actually made 4.40. It's not difficult being nice to those less fortunate than yourself.
  3. Awash? Behave yourself. All of them? You have a vivid imagination. 99.9% sleep at home in their own beds.
  4. So. Them southern shandy drinkers have been grabbing the headlines with their rubbish escaped lion. What a load of twaddle. Worst escaped lion ever. It takes a city like Sheffield to do things properly. http://i.imgur.com/teJRI.jpg
  5. Isn't the whole point of WiFi the fact that there is no cable?
  6. Farewell you fearless, crazy spaceman. We will never forget what you did. The Landing Module that he flew to the surface carried a plaque on its descent ladder. "Here Men From The Planet Earth First Set Foot Upon the Moon, July 1969 A.D. We Came in Peace For All Mankind".
  7. Sounds like the power supply has gone. If you want to save your stuff, just pull the door open (the right side panel) and remove the hard drive. Note that you will not be able to read the drive on a Windows PC unless it has "MacDrive" installed.
  8. Smith is quite a common name isn't it. I'm sure someone who shares it has committed murder at some point. Maybe we should top them all, just to be sure. That should certainly save resources for the innocent.
  9. Just drop the bomb and end it already. At least we will get rid of all the lefty arseholes that poured disdain on the Govt"s well thought out "Protect and Survive" pamphlets. While you lot were out protesting and blocking rail transports of nuclear material to Windscale, we were building shelters out of unwanted doors and empty Weetabix boxes that we meant to bring round to the recycling but never bothered with. Frankly, I have more of a problem getting rid of used wine bottles. Forums poster "Agony", do you want to have a serious discussion about nuclear power ?
  10. My 11 year old son is very ill and requires use of of a kidney dialysis machine. He's at home now although confined to bed. The hospital provided a computer programme that steers the dialysis process and it runs on our home PC. I have the feeling that the programme has crashed -- it's asking me to restart the computer. Trouble is, I dare not do a restart because I am currently downloading a torrent of Ridley Scott's new film "Prometheus" on the same PC and it's really slow. I'm only getting about 65kb from the seeders. If I do a restart, will I be able to resume the download, or lose what I have so far? I'm using uTorrent if that's any help.
  11. Absolutely. Every home should have a bidet. It might even be a step towards solving the problem of certain members of our society's unwillingness to seek gainful employment. I work shifts at a TV station and on occasion, it's hard to be motivated for the 6AM switchover. A nice sit down followed by a quick blast is invigorating and has me cheered up and ready to rock in no short order. Sometimes, I will hop on, even if I don't need to "go".
  12. Living on the European mainland as I do, it is common to have both a bath and a shower in your house. We also have a bidet and that's the best of all -- a quick press of the button and... whooosh! Thrilling doesn't even begin to describe it.
  13. Wonderful! That is truly a art. I'm going to print it out and frame it. Will you be manufacturing these machines at some point?
  14. I bet they are fascinated. Just sitting around being orphans and suddenly some grinning white bloke turns up in the buff.
  15. In the world of decent "wearable" cameras, GoPro are dirt cheap. It's possible to spend as little as £25 or so for an alternative brand but you will definitely see a difference in image quality. The first time one of those falls off, you can bin it. We use Swiss made Blickvang on board and helmet cameras for pro motorcycle racing and if we didn't have a sponsoring deal, the units we have would be around £600 each.
