  1. Hello :) I was wondering if anyone could advise me on the best MS office package for my MacBook? I would like to have MS Word, Excel and Publisher (possibly powerpoint too) and I'm having trouble making sense of the best package? Has anyone got any advice? Many thanks in advance..... S
  2. I've seen some offers on Groupon recently for ink time with Good Vibrations and Street Art Tattoos. I've never seen offers like this before but it seems like a good offer.....I've been planning to get another tattoo for a while so I'm tempted. I've always been to Mr Personality in the past who I've been really happy with but I find it hard to get an appointment at a convenient time and it can be really pricey. Has anyone got any reviews or advice on the two places advertising on groupon? Cheers all......
  3. Try Hotyogasheffield. They provide daily classes and have two studios in Sheffield which is handy if you're from either end of town.
  4. Hello There is a community based project called Timebuilders in Sheffield who provide daily conversational english classes to a wide range of people - it's a really friendly bunch. I used to volunteer down there. They run out of St Mary's Church on Brammall Lane every day from 10 am to 12 noon and accommodate all levels. They have a website or alternatively you can contact Aroose on aroose.uppal@stmarys-church.co.uk / 0114 2230240.
  5. Calling all Sheffield residents! There is a "pop-up" cafe event taking place tomorrow, Tuesday 17th March, at the Jesus Centre on Broomspring Lane from 10.30 am - 12.30 pm. The event aims to bring the community together, with free teas, coffees and biscuits and plenty of friendly chat in a comfortable cafe environment. Everything is free, and there may well be people from outside the area who just want to meet people and get to know it a little better! Flyers have been distributed around the area, and if you would like to come along, you would be more than welcome There will be a number of similar events "popping-up" over the coming weeks due to the overwhelming success of the last event, so keep your diaries handy!
  6. Could you forward me the form for a stall please? Many thanks, Sarah

  10. Hi there! Merry Christmas to all! I hope its peaceful and happy This is a little bit of a cry for guidance, inspiration and support really! Up until a couple of years ago, I was extremely fit and regularly ran in excess of 40 miles per week with friends. About 18 months ago I was diagnosed with pneumonia, and became extremely ill. I spent 2 months in hospital and was left in a very fragile physical state as a result. It didn't do much for my mental health either. I am looking to take up some form of exercise, that will build lean muscle mass and push my body in a new way, I feel that this is an opportunity to open my mind to new, exciting ways to keep fit that I can build into my routine gradually while I build my strength back up. I just wondered if anyone had any ideas or suggestions that perhaps helped them out of a rut, or got them back into training.....maybe something that involves a goal to aim towards? I have lost a lot of confidence since my illness, and would really like to get involved in something that will encourage my health and fitness levels as a whole. Any suggestions, personal stories or just ideas would be much appreciated. From a little bit of a lost sheep at Christmas! Thank you all!
  11. Yes, it's part of the shsc group bluedf. They are all very good at their jobs and are extremely approachable. You can't refer yourself, but if you give them a ring one of the recovery coaches will be able to discuss your options with you and even meet with you for coffee and a chat. There is no reason why your gp shouldn't refer you, it's costs them nothing although the gp referral scheme is pretty new so they might not even know about it yet! Hope that helps
  12. Spaces Recovery Services offer a twelve week reablement/preventative service which is recovery focused. The service offers a range of educational and social programmes including the Recovery Education Programme, psycho-educational and social inclusion groups. The courses range in length and group size and included are just some of the following subjects; Anxiety Management, Mood and Depression Management, Mindfulness, Relaxation, Creative Arts Therapy, Transitions Group (for under 25 yr olds), Understanding BPD, and many many more. The aim of this service is to build resilience and to help individuals to develop positive coping strategies, enabling them to access mainstream activities in the community including training and employment. This service incurs no cost to access and is primarily for service users who do not meet the eligibly criteria for Self Directed Support. Contact numbers are 01142 262660 or 2262500. Speaking personally, it was the short term Recovery focused groups available at Spaces that saved my life, not being in services for treatment. The team are amazing, the courses are fantastically delivered and most importantly, they believe in Recovery. They accept direct GP referrals.
