  1. Well I've just had a butchers for 11 games (xbox and xbox 360) and 29 DVDs got: £26.73 from Music Magpie (altho 3 of the games the barcode didn't go through) £32.80 from CEX looking at prices on their website (which tend to change and sometimes dont match when you go in store) Basically CEX are better on games but on quite a few DVDs they only offer 10p whereas music magpie offer 30p, its not much difference but to save the hassle of ebay listing, and relisting fees if it doesnt sell, its not that bad. Or you could always take the moral high ground and donate to charity for no money at all
  2. I thought The Lescar had closed down? Must have been misinformed
  3. Title of the post is pretty self explanatory! Looking for places that still do Comedy Open Mic Nights or slots in Sheffield, have already got one gig under my belt in Liverpool but was hoping for somewhere a bit more closer to home so I dont have to travel the best part of two hours and get a room in a travelodge for 5 minutes of funny Cheers!!
  4. Thank you!!!! Its going to be effectively a liquid diet, mainly alcohol Got the trials of the work Christmas do tomorrow with the already pre-planned menu, which I know will have stuff I shouldnt eat in, so will just be damned!!! Hell its at the poncy Macdonalds St Paul hotel and if a glass of house white is £5 then Im not staying long!!! Have to say the one that reckons its all in your mind should swap digestive systems with me for a month and see how they like it!! My dad reckoned it was all in my mind until I threw up all over the bathroom floor last time I had cake!! And when both my mum and sis have IBS i think having awkward stomachs must run in the family
  5. Have to send thanks out to all, get a bit down over the whole food issue, mainly because my GP was no good and suggested I take rennies if I was feeling ill all the time!!!!! I had to go private for a full intolerance test!!! Do feel a lot better after cutting things out, at first I couldnt have onions, tomatoes and peppers but Im allowed to start having them again in very small quantities. The whole wheat thing is very annoying tho, cos it does seem to crop up in everything, including crisps, which to me makes no sense, crisps in my mind should be potatoes and oil but anyway Considering making sage n onion stuffing with the wheat free bread stuff as its pretty diabolical for sarnies, like eating polystyrene!!! This might seem a bit numpty of me but being as I usually just add water to Paxo Im not entirely sure how you go about making stuffing from scratch... Im assuming its essentially breadcrumbs, herbs, onions and something to bind it all together..?
  6. Bought that dove farm flour, its chickpea flour, thought I'd use it to try and make flatbread a la Ready Steady Cook style. Didnt quite work out, think I need to get this weird Xanthan gum (something like that) cos wheat free flour is missing the gluten and rising agents that make cake, bread and other things. Its made out of fermented cabbaged or something which sort of puts me off.
  7. OMG!! never realised that! been looking at cheapo shop own brand custard powder, you lifesaver!!! Its all been a bit irritating coming from someone who is unrelentlessly addicted to Starbucks caramel frappachinos and the gingerbread lattes. Considered buying my own coffee machine and using special milk but it just isnt the same! Think it might be a trip to the co-op tomorrow to pick up a packet of birds... custard powder that is Thanks to all!!!! I feel slightly better now, although that could also be the 2 quid bottle of tesco plonk Ive just drank
  8. Oh poo! Cant make up custard with the powdery stuff cos even that has actual milk powdery stuff in it!!! WAAAAAH! Think its gonna be a liquid diet this year!! oh well I might actually loose weight this Christmas for a change, especially as I cant have the baileys milkshakes anymore Just checked the apple pies, no soya huzzah, alas the choc cake does, but I suppose if i dont eat the whole thing in one go I should be fine!!! *fingers crossed* The works Chrimble do is coming up soon and pretty sure all the nasty things I cant have will be involved, so Im almost accepting the fact I shall have to eat things and be damned because no-one seems to cater for the intolerant type hey ho!!
  9. I'd bid for you babe!!! bit skint cos its comming up to Chrimble but I can offer 3pound 27pennies and half a packet of polos... the fruity kind no less!!! Ive worked my way down bottle of 2quid plonk from TESCO n watching QI, trying to put off doing something constructive like the ironing or something ... sorry that was a bit off topic
  10. Not been on here for ages, I cant remember how this interweb thing works Im in desperate need of help this Chrimble, recently been diagnosed with a wheat and dairy intolerance, and the best thing is Im intolerant to soya as well!!!!! The Chrimble treats are gonna be few and far between and racking my brains trying to think of adequate substitutes... and failing... Just been to TESCO, they rock!!! got a nice selection of wheat free goodies, not that theres anything festive about wheat free jam tarts!!! (they'd ran out of wheat free mince pies grrrr) My main issue is CUSTARD!!! I really want custard and christmas just isnt christmas without a trifle but there isnt anything I can use cos of the whole soya thing!!!! Holland and Barrett werent much use, they just stared at me blankly... but then most people do Any advice would be gratefully received, right now Im resigned to getting drunk in a corner at Chrimble which is also good, but distinctly lacking in custard!! Cant even have egg nog ffs!!!!
  11. There was a very nice young man in Bia Hoi, dont think he works there now tho the white russians they make there are amazing but unfortunately Ive found out I have a huge lactose intolerance and cant have milk and he promised he'd make me a white russian if I brought in some magic milk (now dont be rude) that I could drink. I thought that was good of him cos most probably wouldnt!!!! Will have to sweet talk some other bar staff person into making me a dairy free white russian now!!!!!
  12. MrH!!!! Just as I start to try to wheedle my way back in you decide to leave... was it summat I said One of the first forumers I met in the CRB ah the good old days I vaguely remember sitting on your knee whilst swigging cheap alchopop Twas a brazen hussy I know Good luck down South ...there be dragons...
  13. A whole 10 English pounds on the Lottery (back when it was the National Lottery and not this silly LOTTO nonsense ) Used to have the same numbers each week then get terrified if I didnt buy a ticket and have my numbers come up!!! Really bad habit so stopped watchin TV on a Saturday which is no bad thing as its all kids singing and Charlie still in Casuality I bet
  14. Hi again : ) Going to be attending an "audition workshop" tomorrow as part of a Point Blank Theatre production called 'Last Orders' done a few wee bits of acting - mainly school plays and silly Uni role play stuff (ahem) and did an Improv course at Crucible... But was just wondering if there was anyone out there who has any advice or tips on how to get through an audition, only Im bricking it to some extent and dont want to a) make total fool of self or b) hide at the back sort of need happy balance Ta chucks
  15. Ive just been loiterin sweetie and all this workin hard and no play has taken its toll on rampant internet use Been busy at Uni having to retake a module while at work hence all the overtime making up time when Im not at work a joyous 4 and a half hours. Doin 8.30 till 6pm is a chuffing nightmare but at least I go to kickboxing after and vent a little frustration!!
