I have a Worcester Bosch 28 i Junior combi boiler with a manual timer which is not working. It will do on and off positions ok but not the 'clock' one. Everything else is operating properly, ie hot water and thermostat. Is the problem likely to be just the timer and, if so, as it's got a 2 year guarantee for the boiler should the timer be covered too? Is there anything I can try please before calling an engineer out, please? Should I call the engineer who fitted it (cos it's under guarantee) or do I have the option to find another? Thanks.

A couple of years ago my neighbour bought a DVD player from Dixons at Heathrow in August as a present for her grandson. It turned out to be faulty but she had no problem getting a replacement from them in Sheffield. Currys is part of the same group as Dixons. If you have the receipt there should be no problem.

What evidence do you have for this statement? As a civil servant I have answered many letters from MPs following up queries from constituents. The MPs usually pass the letters we write back to the constituent with a covering letter. I've also provided information by phone and e-mail to two of the Sheffield MPs, occasionally while they had a constituent sat in the office. If the OP does live in Crookes his/her MP is likely to be Nick Clegg, the Lib Dem leader.

Labour MPs costing £25,000 a year- Say City council
GillyMay replied to The Manager's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Meg Munn's office may be in her constituency but I challenge anyone to say exactly where it is. As far as I know it isn't open to the public as such. The address is a PO Box only. -
Best place for a carpet and underlay???
GillyMay replied to neeeeeeeeeek's topic in General Discussions
I would definitely recommend Balfour Carpets on Staniforth Road. I had a lounge and stair carpet from them earlier this year, including good underlay. They were the cheapest quote and the service was excellent. I called them because they were recommended by a work mate. -
Does anyone know what Myrtle Road is like to live on?
GillyMay replied to PINGU's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
On the occasions when my neighbour's alarm has gone off, usually due to his cat I must admit, I've checked around and then rung him on his mobile. I know that my neighbours both sides would do the same for me. Perhaps I'm just fortunate. -

I'm sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble on Viewpoint. As you've said I think they must be targeting the new estate. This happens often as potential burglars assume that you might have new goods. I'm not far away but haven't experienced such problems for a long time. If you haven't got a burglar alarm I'd have one fitted immediately. The police advise that alarms are definitely a good deterrent. I haven't heard of anyone who's got an alarm who's been burgled. I'll keep a look out for anything unusual. -
I have sent you a PM Greendragon.

GARAGE HELP... recommendations
GillyMay replied to heeleyrachel's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I would recommend Jupiter garage on Smithywood Road (runs between Woodseats Road and Chesterfield Road). They are happy to collect your car and bring it back. Mine's with them today for service and MOT. Ask for Mark 2553554. -
St Luke's bid for Graves Park / Norton Nurseries

I don't see why the Lib Dem Council can't order an inquiry IF they believe it is appropriate. -
