VAN ZANDT replied to palbitine2's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Thought i was hallucinating when i saw a car on its roof just before middlewood tavern in the early hours of this morning no other vehicles involved a few people stood close by how it got into this position is puzzling me anyone else witness this? -
Why does everyone mention the peak district? much as i love the place you don't have to go far to escape the city try wharncliffe woods and crags bolsterstone and ewden valley or bradfield where there are three resorvoirs to explore midhope and langsett are well worth a visit all are free and on OUR doorstep.

Is Warnock to blame for united's demise?
VAN ZANDT replied to jdamarine's topic in Sheffield Football
For goodness sake get a life! the problems united have are the same as wednesday's they NEVER put the team first, instead focusing on outside interests and their assets off the pitch rather than on it. -
What kind of city is Sheffield (politically)?
VAN ZANDT replied to Radomu's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions

Very Very Noisy Neighbours, very unpleasant
VAN ZANDT replied to gamezone07's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I sympathise with your predicament i've had rabble like that in the past as neighbours and there is no easy solution your first port of call has to be the council unless you can approach these people and talk which seems unlikely from what you say are your other neighbours affected by the noise? if they are the more dissenting voices the better good luck -
What kind of city is Sheffield (politically)?
VAN ZANDT replied to Radomu's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Hi first of all Sheffield is a great place to live politically it has always been a labour stronghold although in recent years it has started to move towards a more liberal way of voting it is a multi-cultural city with a diverse population as for far right organisations these hold little sway and very few people are hoodwinked by their fascist views it is also a student friendly city with loads of amenities and recreational activities i promise you won't be disappointed! -
I am sick of all these pot holes around Sheffield
VAN ZANDT replied to hixxy79's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
sheffield council has let this problem fester for years now they thought the e.u. were goin to to bail us out but obviously that has gone to pot (hole) as for having no money where did they find the cash for the development on the bottom of the moor? thousands of paving stones that must have cost an absolute fortune and for what exactly? -
i bought two items for fiver but was charged full price for them both (£5.98) didnt realise till i was home i was furious because i've bought the same things for months i know i'll get the difference no probs but this branch (hillsborough) are notorious for this sort of rip-off the manager should be held to account!

Greedy City Centre bars charging an entrance fee
VAN ZANDT replied to milton's topic in Going out in Sheffield
You will tend to find the bars who charge are the ones with 'doormen' on duty (sorry pc brigade that should read 'door-persons') which will invariably go towards their xmas bonus cause the poor dears are so poorly paid! boycott these legalised thieves esp the next time you go past when they will be begging for your custom cause the place is empty -
Huge pothole Wordsworth avenue!!
VAN ZANDT replied to bezzydan's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Speaking of potholes from wadsley lane all the way to worral and beyond the road is a mass of holes and the situation is only going to get worse the council will fill them in with a shovel full of ashphalt and expect us to be satisfied (till it happens again) -
Once you've sampled hd tv nothing else compares

You could try Butterworths on leppings lane just down from netto i first went when i was a kid some 40 years ago probably his son who runs it now but it's a local family run concern
