  1. Yes, the company withdrew, after being told the application would be denied due to the building being of "special interest, warranting preservation", which is the description of a Grade 2 listing. Essentially the council didn't want the facsia updating nor did they want the internal structure altering to accomodate the newer equipment (air-con & extraction systems). McDonalds were there for a while afterwards but this was down to the costs of breaking the lease to leave earlier. The time was also used to reduce the number of staff by slowing transitioning them to other stores nearby. It was me a few weeks ago but you're misremembering what was said, which is strange as you often post with adamancy things that would have happened when you were allegedly a toddler. For accuracy, I worked for the company not the store.
  2. Shouldn't be jail. Society needs to get over itself and start using this again:
  3. I get this all the time on Queens Rd and Granville Rd. I've even had a police officer pull me on Granville then whilst approaching my car realise his mistake and sheepishly apologise for the inconvience. Granville is also one where you take the BL and then the person behind you tries racing you to the lights to get in front.
  4. 7.7% is the increase SCC have implemented. So if I've done it right. (not well ATM so head is fuzzy) Pre-increase: ~£360 Post-Increase: ~£390 Looking on Zoopla, the average price for a 1-bed flat, privately, is around £500 on the outskirts of the city, upwards of £1200 in the city centre.
  5. Yet the rest of the world can't afford refugees/asylum seekers and expected to take them on anyway?
  6. At least the begging scrotes won't have far to walk from the 24hr shop for a new source of victims...
  7. Why can't aid enter via Egypt? Why aren't refugees being allowed to leave via Egypt?
  8. So would you agree that parents and businesses alike should be able to fine teachers over the 9 missed days in 2023 when the teachers and their unions USED OUR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION as a weapon against the government for their own financial gain. Let's not forget the strikes were about pay not standards of education. Those strikes negatively impacted parents, through the loss of wages having to stay home and harmed businesses due to missing staff. I think at least the fines, because of this, in 2023 should have been suspended.
  9. TBF we've taught my youngest how to eat with cutlery and he still ditches them in favour of fingers for some meals.
  10. I'm in my 40s. Multiple licence categories on my licence, clean, never had a single point or conviction, Had my licence 20+ years, never had a claim by or against me. I own a Focus ST (not one with the pop & nonce banging exhaust) My wife has a 7 seater, which I have access to, under named on her policy Live in one of the lowest crime rate areas. My renewal this year was £1490, up from £520 previous year. Managed to get it down to £760. For me the problem is that insurance is LEGALLY required but handed to private companies. IMO because it's state required, it should be state operated.
  11. Which street is the 18 year old living to get insured for £800? Asking for a friend....
  12. The diesel vans were only until the electric buses were ready IIRC. So those drivers will now be using the electrics.
  13. You could say you didn't need to be a clairvoyant to see it coming.....
  14. I assume the diesels will go back to Holmfirth.
