  1. Confused voter? You already said you weren't going to vote for them. Now they are going to have to fight for your vote? Do you want them to convince you to vote for them or not?
  2. You may be able to claim via the MIB due to an untraced or uninsured driver. I do a lot of work for the MIB, either give them a call or ask your insurance company how to go about starting a claim. Here is their link: https://www.mib.org.uk/making-a-claim/claiming-against-an-uninsured-driver/ ---------- Post added 25-01-2017 at 15:00 ---------- Sorry, just realised you cannot call them direct any more. You need to ask your insurance company about claiming via MIB. There is information on the website I gave you though. Hope you can get some help repairing the car. I hate uninsured drivers!
  3. Not sure if anyone here will know the answer. Do staff at the GP Collaborative at the NGH have access to hospital and GP records when you visit them? Thanks
  4. I would never have thought about that! What a good idea. Might suggest this when I visit people, thank you
  5. Its always worth making sure your keys are "safeguarded", put somewhere out of sight and not in an obvious place. There is a section in motor insurance terms and conditions that covers safeguarding of keys and it is becoming more common that, after a theft of vehicle, the policy holder is interviewed to take a witness statement, including where the keys are normally kept, and if there is clear failure to safeguard the insurance company may not pay the claim. Places to be aware of which can be considered failure to safeguard keys are left in the house-door lock with the house keys, on a hook on the back of the door, in a dish/bowl on a kitchen side, windowsills etc . It only takes a few days of putting them somewhere safe to get into a good routine that could make the difference of having the claim paid out or rejected.
  6. I was reading the comments on the start news article. One comment stated about being able to drive another vehicle with 3rd party cover if you have your own comprehensive insurance. This is often not the case and before driving someone else's car, thinking you are insured for 3rd party, check it carefully because the chances are that you won't be covered. Fronting is almost endemic, particularly with younger drivers/parents. It is insurance fraud, sadly, most insurance companies will not prosecute as such as it is too expensive to do so and would put up the cost of premiums even further.
  7. Insurance companies are refusing increasing numbers of claims due to failure to safeguard keys, so make sure your keys are kept well away from your door keys (burglars like the easy-pick car keys), keep all keys away from doors and windows, and preferably somewhere hidden from sight but where you can get them quickly if needed. I have to visit people who have cars stolen to take statements for the insurance company and failure to safeguard keys is an issue we have to check out. It is becoming a more common reason for the insurance company not paying out (might be worth checking your insurance contract to see if this is mentioned). I really do hope you find your car; the police response seems unusual, I think I have only had 2-3 where the police have been interested.
  8. I visit there regularly as I have family living in Copenhagen. It is not the timer that stops people crossing. The pedestrians do not cross until the green man shows because that is the law - you can be fined for crossing and they take this seriously. They are also brought up to not cross until the green man shows - it is their way of life, just as it used to be for us many years ago. They reckon the only ones who cross on the red man are visitors/tourists or those Danes who have lived abroad! My daughter was stopped by police, at around 03:30 am because she crossed at a crossing when the red man was showing, despite there being no traffic around.
  9. http://www.savedrives.com/ I use Save Drives - a free app, or £1.99 if you don't want a tiny advert in the corner. The quality is as good as your camera phone; when playing back it shows you the exact location, speed, distances and time and you can follow the journey on Google Maps. Why pay so much for a separate dash cam when a phone will do it, for free or cheap? A bus lost a back panel on the Motorway and it smashed into the front of my car, causing a lot of damage. The police saw it - but they weren't interested!
  10. Overload with technology, adverts, people wanting to know where you are ALL time time, having to check work emails out of work time. There are many ways we can become overloaded and I feel this is a big contributor to depression.
  11. I often think that man wasn't made for that which we have today; all day we are bombarded by man-made technology, shopping, food filled with chemicals. I often just think our brains are overloaded!
  12. I am not going into details, but my motivation WAS to get better and every time I saw someone (medical) I aksed them why, when I was trying so hard to get better, were things getting worse. None of it made sense. I went to the behavioural activation group run through IAPT and although that did change ways I viewed my unbelievably suicidal feelings for the good, it was my choice to come off medication. That act lifted the horrendous fog. I am not better yet but am now able to makes choices about how I react to the suicidal thoughts. Each case is different.
