Yes i will be the overall carer,but they will be my daughters pets so want her to be as involved as possible,for that reason i didnt want nippy/fast creatures like some hamsters are. Thanks for replying,some good advice there and i`ll have a look at that rat forum as well.

Oh and where in Sheffield could i get some apart from Pets at Home?

Are these a good pet for a 9 year old? Should i get 1 or is 2 better? If 2, males or females? What sort of cages are best? Obviously i will do my research if i decide to get one,just wanted peoples opinions first! Thanks.

I remember going there when i was a teen and paying a quid! 18 yrs later i`ve had no probs at all!

It doesnt look half persian to me....they are usually semi/long haired.Just looks like a white moggy .Being all white will be a good selling point so make sure you state that.

From my experiance,dwarf/Russian/chinese hamsters are nasty little things.You need a golden/Syrian hamster,they are slightly bigger and a lot more friendly.

I can remember using those on sports days so a good 20-25 yrs ago.

Maybe i would if he arrived before 2pm...i would quite like my post in a morning at breakfast time..
