  1. Thank you for your replys, I really appreciate them. I am seriously considering the baby led weaning as have spent some time researching it last night. Its worth a go and if it doesnt work its not going to hurt, we just stop. I think maybe I was a little hasty getting worried about it as I thought it was late to wean them as my other daughter was weaned at 4 months but things change, constantly! Reading between the lines and on the internet I really dont think she is ready. I realise now the fact they are twins doesnt mean they are going to do everything together! My daughter I think maybe slightly behind as she was poorly at birth, ventilated and had her feeds stopped a few times in hospital. It took her 2 weeks after my son to get her sucking action to take milk from a bottle. Think I will just wait but not hold my little boy back. Being a girl im sure she will catch up quick! Anyway, thanks for your replys, its nice to have other mums opinions and to know the baby led weaning is a success for people.
  2. Thanks for that have just taken a look and its quite interesting and something I would definately try but I forgot to explain in original post that its not that she doesnt like the food or spoon its that if anything other than a teat goes into mouth she balks and usually is sick. She tries to suck her thumb and is the same and she wants a dummy but is the same with that, always has been. But I dont think its medical otherwise she would do the same with the bottle I think. I just read my original post back and realised that was my main point and wondered if other babies were the same as my health visitor can offer no explanation, and I forgot to put it! Thanks though and I will definately be keeping baby led weaning in mind!
  3. I know it seems like yesterday and they were in hospital for 7 weeks so they dont seem to have been home 2 minutes. It does make me appreciate even the hard work though because time is going so fast and at some point they will be more independant and will need me less. Think im going to leave her for a while but maybe a few days, as weeks in a babies life is a long time. Im not trying to push her and if she not as ready as her brother then so be it but I know she is constantly hungry! But then again weaning is supposed to be about tastes rather than filling up at first I think! Congratulations RozeePozee, its hard work but great at the same time. Good luck! x
  4. Hi, I have this week started weaning my twins that are 6 month old next week. I have had a feeling they were ready a while ago as sleep pattern changed and they were constantly hungry despite being on hungry baby formula. I stuck with the health visitors advice as my twins were 8 weeks early and are still pretty much like newborns with regards to head control etc. My little boy has taken to it like he was born with the spoon in his mouth but my little girl just does not want to know. I was hoping they would be at the same stage with this as it makes things a little easier. She is alot smaller than him and has always taken less milk. I cant feed them at the same time as they never hungry together so feel as though I am constantly feeding as they wont go longer than 2 hours between milk feeds. I am concerened that pushing my little girl to catch up with her brother is going to cause further problems down the line so would you feed him as normal and leave her for a couple of weeks or keep trying? Anyone else with similar problems, your advice would be very much appreciated. I weaned my 7 year old at 4 months because thats what you did then but she seemed to take it straight away and i know all babies are different, I just wondered if I had left it too late and if there is a small window of oppertunity for weaning without problems! I cant remember much about weaning my 7 year old as I have slept a few times since then! Thanks
  5. With my twins I was told I was having 2 boys right until a couple of weeks before I gave birth 8 weeks early and I had scans every week. Turned out to be a girl and a boy so they can sometimes be wrong. I asked at every scan if the sex was still correct too.
  6. She definately over reacted. There are privacy blankets to give that sort of privacy for breast feeding or a normal blanket would do. Women do look at my husband strange when he goes in to help me as we have twins so he does one change while I do the other. I would hope that is a one off as I would hate to think what my husband would have said to her had it been him!
  7. Doing our bit too, both me and my husband have donated. I would like to think if, god forbid, my child was in the same position people would help. Bless her.
  8. Ex's that lie about their life now to make you think they have moved on......when they clearly havent! Its not their life, its the fact they was a complete physco that ended the casual fling. (My husband's ex, not mine!)
  9. Thats great, thank you for your help. Think the Tom Tom app would be better for me as it needs to be easy to use and am familiar with that, just wanted to check that the navigon wasnt better. Couldnt use the google maps as cant be looking at the phone constantly to check where I am. Thanks for that.
  10. Hi, I have the I phone 3GS and my main reason for getting rid of the old I phone for this was the GPS and the fact I can use this as a Sat Nav as Im sick of getting out of the car and remembering to hide the Sat Nav and pick up my phone, this way I only have to pick up my phone! Anyway, I have been looking and im not great at this but as far as I can see there are two different Sat Nav applications. One a little more expensive than the other and was wondering if anyone has either and which they found better as I would like to get it today as planning a trip away with hubby at the weekend. Thanks
  11. Wasabisabi - fantastic, mine and my husbands favourite place to eat. We dont thinks its that expensive at all and its really worth it. Well I dont think it is as he insists on paying! Yama Sushi - again good, very good but prefer wasabisabi.
  12. God there's too many to list! My family, My twins first smile's, The fact I was a size 10 before getting pregnant with twins and a week after having them was a size 8! I have no idea how! (gave my amazing wardrobe away while pregnant though, thinking I wouldnt ever be that size again) ....... so the last one has to be shopping for a whole new winter wardrobe! God theres so many more....plans for the future, which are going amazingly well and we are close to our dream.
  13. One of our babys were admitted a few weeks ago and we stayed with him day and night going home only to change and shower. They made space in his room for his twin sister too so that made it easier for us as I cant imagine what we woud have done with a baby at home and one in the hospital. We just made the best of it and got through it as best we could. I didnt feel as if I could leave him alone as the nurses seemed so busy and I couldnt stand the thought he might not be fed or changed for a while so we never left him. Im sure some circumstances are different though like if they have other children to care for or circumstances at home. They were in special care for a long time after they were born and when I was discharged I cried every night leaving them but I was back there the next morning first thing. We did that for 8 weeks every day apart from the day of my fathers funeral and even then went in the morning before and then went back in the evening.
  14. When my husband comes home from work and the first thing he does is kiss me and cuddles the kids.
  15. I used to but then I had to have a transfusion after having my twins 3 months ago. I really wish i could so that I could give something back, say thanks for what I had and what my babies had when they were really ill. My husband donates though, because he is so thank full and like me wants to give something back.
