  1. Thats great thanks for the list of items for the doggy box - I think I will do one of these now I have a better idea of what to include is there no way that the admin can make this post a sticky one so that everyone will see it when they come online
  2. Right so we have numerous warnings appearing about months of snow ahead, so does this mean when it does happen we (as a country) will be prepared? Councils will be ready to go with gritters/ploughs whatever it takes to clear it up and make the roads usable and the paths safe to walk on? My guess to the above questions will be NO! despite the last few years us having horrendous winters and plenty of snow I don't think anyone has learnt to take on board the scouts moto of 'be prepared'
  3. Last film I saw was Thor: A Dark World rating 9/10 loved it especially being in IMAX...anyone that hasn't seen yet and is planning on watching - remember it's a marvel film and there is an extra scene at the very end of the credits not just the middle credit scene.
  4. I am hopefully out shopping this weekend so will see what I can pick up for boxes and will then confirm whether I am doing male/female or both I do agree with the comment further up and think this needs to be made into a sticky post to stop it disappearing
  5. Hi I am just wondering if anyone out there has any kind of superhero costume hidden away in a cupboard for a female (large size) that they would not need/want for Children in Need next friday (15th November)?
  6. I would be interested in helping out - but would depend on whether there is evening/weekend drop off arranged anywhere as I cant get to the cathedral weekday mornings due to work? When is the final day to get any donations in to you too, as this would also be a marker on whether I can help and how much I can help? For the doggie boxes does it have to be a full shoebox of doggie treats or can it be a smaller box- can it include dog shampoo/brush/collar etc or is this idea just for treats?
  7. I used online dating services a long time ago, and went on a few dates with people but never really got past the 1 or 2 dates stage. I have got a friend who has just married someone they met online dating and another friend getting married next year to the girl he met online. My main reason for responding to this though is to say that whether you meet someone on line or in a club or out in general they could be violent etc so meeting them online doesn't mask someones history really
  8. I know Meadowhall now has it's late opening times for the lead up to Christmas so thinking it may be to help with that and have less people waiting around in time for a change of tram etc. That's just my thought anyway
  9. I got stuck in the traffic build up on parkway due to this earlier - hit traffic before the Catcliffe exit ( I was coming into Sheffield from Rotherham) was wondering what was happening until I saw police cars - and slip road off and on from Handsworth closed on both sides of the road as well as police at the roundabout and on the side walk path where all the trees are . . . found the article from The Star when I got home. Scary and hopefully a hoax-but as others have said better to be safe than sorry with these kind of incidents. Annoyed me that due to Handsworth exit being closed everyone was then coming off the next one for Prince of Wales road which is my exit and I couldnt get onto the slip road. also the fact that the traffic was moving fine on Parkway after the area of the incident - which suggests rubber neckers --- which annoys me
  10. this is a good idea - get local radio/press involved
  11. I am bringing this topic back as I have been househunting and have viewed a few houses in Woodhouse today - and did like one. It was near the Village - and so I am wondering if anyone has any views on it - i had noticed (and went into) the 3 pubs in the area (The George/The Stag and The Royal) and was made aware of the Stage being newly re-opened and got the feeling it was the kind of pub people would be in partying/loud? Does anyone know how loud it gets with the entertainment/kareoke nights, and what sort of time the 'partying' goes on till at weekends? the other 2 pubs said they close at 11pm so are 'local' pubs
  12. Where is your place of work? depending on what/where it is would depend on the level of celebrity that would want to be involved in the event.
  13. I have seen this a few times, being from Liverpool it is a great musical...I have seen it with Bernie Nolan who was pretty good as Mrs Johnstone but the best was when Barbara Dickson (the original Mrs Johnstone) made a return.
  14. Is anyone that posts on here going to be on it? Also for anyone that doesn't watch but wants to its on C4 at 5.30-6pm every night this week
  15. OOPs at my typo . . . :-) I have recently watched Les Miserables twice . . . it has been a film I have been counting the days for its release for most of last year and so I watched it on Friday 11th (i never usually watch a film on opening day but I couldnt wait any longer) and from that would say 8/10 but then I watched it in IMAX on Tuesday and definatly give an extra 1.5 taking it to 9.5/10 .. . Russell Crowe is where the .5 of a mark is lost as i agree with the comments about his singing live. I was unsure about Hugh Jackman after my first viewin but think the anticipation I had for the film having seen it twice on stage was so high i needed the second viewing for it all to sink in. Hathaway was amazing, and Eddie Redmayne was also a great Marius, his emotion during 'Empty Chairs at Empty Tables' WOW Also loved Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen in their roles
