  1. They had a contract for a company to water the office plants? Health and safety issue? Union rules?
  2. The speaker cabinets that I sent to Greece (I omitted to cancel the GSP option) arrived ok, however in my haste I forgot to pack the speaker grills in the boxes. Fortunately, they will go I think by Royal Mail as the weight is under 2 kg. I am sending direct to the buyer's address (at my own expense) rather than GSP. There are 2 things I am unsure about, 1. Is there a restriction on the size of a CN22 customs form (downloaded it), and 2. should they be classed as a gift, as the buyer had already paid for them in the first shipment.
  3. Correct, do not drive onto a pavement in case you hit a cyclist there.
  4. Last week I went with a friend to his flat in a N. Wales seaside town to investigate a water leak from the flat above, which was a very small attic flat on the second floor. The owner of the flat let us in and we were greeted with an horrific mess, piles of rubbish in every corner, across the floor. He had been just tossing all his rubbish in the flat for the past 18 mth , a mountain of beer cans, food/cake/chocalate wrappers etc. The owner (a youngish man) apparently had psychological issues and was grossly obese. We located the leak and fixed it, however to help both him and us we decided to clean out all the rubbish and hoover up. The toilet/ shower cubical was a sight to behold (dare not show photos!), I was shoveling "debris" off the floor with a plastering trowel. After a day and a half, it was beginning to look reasonable. my friend then bought and fitted a new toilet seat. In the pic are about 24/25 full bin bags of rubbish, we had to leave some rubbish due to time constraints but I would estimate about another 5 bags to fill. While we were there, some rep from the council came and my friend gave them a "piece of his mind" about the situation.
  5. Or rather, mischief at Beauchief! (Cockshutt Road I think is in Beauchief)
  6. Not sure, but I thought that Walkley County Seniors transferred to Myers Grove. I know that school used M.G. playing fields.
  7. If you qualify for total or significant council tax relief, the amount is less of a problem.
  8. Let's not forget Putin's arrest warrent by ICC: The International Criminal Court (ICC) is an international court located in The Hague, Netherlands, created in 1998 by the Rome Statute. Both Russia and Ukraine signed the Statute, but neither ratified it and Russia withdrew its signature from the Statute in 2016 following a report that classified Russia's annexation of Crimea as an occupation; however, Ukraine accepted the Court's jurisdiction on its territory in 2014, allowing the Court to investigate alleged crimes committed during the course of the Russo-Ukrainian war.[4] The court received total cooperation from the Ukrainian authorities.[5] On 4 February 2015, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appealed to the ICC to investigate crimes against humanity committed by Russian forces on Ukrainian territory since 20 February 2014, and to hold accountable the responsible senior officials of the Russian Federation.[6] On 24 February 2022, Russia invaded and occupied parts of Ukraine in a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War, which began in 2014. During the invasion, Russia has abducted thousands of Ukrainian children in the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine and has deported them to Russia.[7] Ukrainian officials are investigating more than 16,000 suspected cases of forced deportation of minors.[8] Russia has acknowledged transferring 2,000 children without guardians.[5] In May 2022, Putin ordered to simplify the issuance of Russian citizenship to Ukrainian orphan children.[9] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized that by doing this, "Putin effectively legalized the abduction of children".[9] In August 2022, Gyunduz Mamedov, Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine in 2019–2022, said that the deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia (more than 300,000 according to the Russian Federation) is the most promising way to prove genocide.[10] In September 2022, Lvova-Belova, holding the office of the Commissioner for Children's Rights of Russia, described how the abducted Ukrainian children were initially hostile towards Russia and Putin, but after the process of "integration" the children's negative attitude gradually "turned into love".[11] Rest of it is on Wikipedia section.
  9. Seem to remember that some brands had the banned "hydrogenated fats" on the ingredients list.
  10. was built The Farfield (Hillfoot Bridge) built in 1753 and survived the Great Flood in 1864. Originally built as a gentleman’s residence for an officer from the barracks it has been a public house since the 19th century.
  11. About 4 weeks ago in Morrisons Hillsboro I noticed a woman pushing a trolly loaded to the top (with more boxes on top of that) go through the auto barriers and out towards the entrance. Must have timed it when the guard had moved away.
  12. The shop staff have no legal right to look into your bags, neither do the security staff, only the police.
  13. If their salaries and pensions depended on satisfying your grant, they'd be falling over themselves to get to your door with the cheque!
  14. Hope it turns out better than Park Hill, Kelvin Flats, Gleadless Valley etc. Wonder who's going to pay for the maintenance of the gardens?
