The Mcanns got the MET, the Needhams got no-one. Why?
madasfish replied to smiley11's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Sensible post........both children were able to be taken because they were alone (whether it be for a minute or 30 minutes). The ones in the wrong here are the purpatrators not the parents. -

I cannot begin to comprehend how families with missing children cope and I hope that all families in this situation are offered the support and assistance they need. I am pleased that Bens mum has recently met with ministers and I hope that the meeting was fruitful. -
Should I allow my kid to walk to school with her pal?

Lots of good advice on this thread - this being one of the best. -
Forge Valley School: Uniform problems
madasfish replied to Steve70's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
And why do you believe that schools could not achieve that without the need for kids to have to wear black polyester? King Edwards gets results that are far higher than the majority of schools in Sheffield and their pupils are not wearing uniform...........how does wearing a certain item of clothing transpose into "respect for authority"? And how do they manage on the continent where the wearing of polyester or nylon in drab colours is practically unheard of? -

But that is the most ironic thing as they did see here: Originally Posted by pigster I think [well i hope ] somebodys on a wind up here. Exactly this. Apart from "would be" should be "could be"............as the rationale for looking at the emails would need to be consided by a court.

Nope I think they may actually be serious ......... So next question "why are lifeguards allowed to jump into water with clothes on - when were not?" -

Are you genuinely being ironic (too) ? -

It sounds as though your employer may have met their legal obligations to you ie they have offered you the working hours that you want within their business constraints (even if the hours are not for the days that you would ideally want to work). Now you have their decision you need to see what your employers "dispute resolution" arrangements are (this may be called "formal complaints" or "grievances") and then you need to formally follow them..........but usually these have deadlines attached to them so if you are going to raise a complaint do it quickly. Usually this will mean having a meeting with the person who made the decision about your hours and them explaining further why they have done what they have - you can then state your case. If you are in the trade union you are able to bring them (or another rep) to the meeting. After this meeting - if the decision is still the same - most employers dispute resolution process allows for an appeal - to someone independant this time.

But why should they have to when the boys have got perfectly serviceable shoes already? We are unnecessarily obsessed in the UK with school uniform - no where esle in Europe insists that all those under 16 have to dress in polyester and nylon! It amazes me that any school has the time, energy and resources to waste on such a trivial matter as clothing. -
Which is the best school to sent my kids to for A levels?
madasfish replied to dimbat's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Well said CaptainChaos. Dimbat - as you are into generalising may I ask if your daughter has aspirations of becoming a WAG ? perhaps following Ashley Cole to LA ? because sadly thats what I think of when I think of the girls from the High School - because a few have given a reputation to the many.
