  1. Definitely 30. I remember overtaking a police car, thinking it was 40, many years ago. He gave his siren a quick blast and held up a 30 sign while his partner vigorously pointed at it. Made his day I think. Luckily I didn’t get a fine or points.
  2. It wasn't run by the show ground. They rented it out. There was a post on FB by the mayor of bakewell apologising about the catastrophe and saying 'it wasn't me' sort of statement. I'll see if I can post a link. I nearly booked a stall but at £240 a pop I didn't. Soooo glad I didn't. https://www.facebook.com/helen.froggatt.376?ref=ts&fref=ts I am posting this as Mayor of Bakewell. I would like everyone who visited the Winter Wonderland in Bakewell at the weekend to know that the event was nothing to do with Bakewell Town Council or the businesses in the town. It was a private event that we had no control over or consultation with. That said I would like to apologise to you all and hope you will come back to visit our beautiful town.
  3. New shop in the Winter gardens, Sheffield Makers shop. Items all designed and made by Sheffield Artists and Craft people. Also All Good Stuff Arundel Street, Sheffield Artists and crafts people, depends on what you want. There are quite a few of these little shops.
  4. There are few independent shops in Sheffield. All good stuff arundel street in butcher works. Frankly my deer Abbeydale road, the vault and a few others on Abbeydale road. Strip the willow, the Nichols building, Birds yard chapel walk. Multi craft cabin holmefirth.
  5. You will probably have to pay for as long as your child is in further education which can be 19-21 in some cases. Usually for as long as child benefit is collected. Speak to CAB for advice.
  6. Try All Good Stuff in Butcher Works, Arundle Street. Lots of independent jewellers and artists selling there. Yorkshire. Artspace have quite a few jewellers working from studios in Persistance works and Exchange Place. Depends what you're after. Most of the jewellery is hand crafted, bespoke and definitely not what you'd buy from a chain.
  7. Maybe ring Sheffield music hub http://www.sheffieldmusicservicecharanga.co.uk/site/
  8. If it's arthritis it will probably show in a blood test or show on an xray. Ask for a referal and get a blood test
  9. I signed on for the first time over a year ago. I had worked for over 20 years and was made surpless to requirements. Not fully understanding the rules I made a simple mistake and was sanctioned for 3 months( still had to sign on during that). I was livid and tried to appeal, speak to someone etc. My Job centre mentor was rude, unhelpful and spoke to me like I was stupid. In the end I decided to go self employed as I would've probably lost it completely having to sign on and turn up for stupid DWP interviews. They were on my case as soon as I signed on. I could understand the need to get me motivated if I'd been signing on 10 years but this was 3 weeks. I've paid my stamp and should be entitled to some of it back. I have 3 kids, bills, mortgage etc and no JSA. If I hadn't had any savings, I've no idea what I would've done. I didn't qualify for an emergency loan or for them to reconsider the sanction. They refused point blank.I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy. At the moment there is a case in court demanding the number of deaths to be revealed under benefit sanctions using the freedom of information act. The DWP are fighting this tooth and nail.
  10. Have a look on the WEA website. They used to offer courses very cheaply. ( I know you said no course) A lot of the time it's more hands on rather than lots of paperwork. They offer loads from pottery to maths.
  11. nicola, sent you my number ---------- Post added 15-04-2015 at 21:40 ---------- Dog now reunited with owners and home
  12. I've reported it and happy to look after it. I'll pop out with it tomorrow to get it scanned. It's a scared little thing so don't want to take it out of the house yet until it's settled and relaxed. It pood and weed on me when we caught it. It's now cleaned up and wrapped up in a tea towel to calm it down. The police or dog warden will ring me with news. I'm more concerend for it's family as they must be missing it
  13. Ok will do. Will the dog place be open now?
  14. Found tiny dog in S13 running up busy road. On my lap being fussed. Very scared, not sure if it's hurt, but seems ok apart from it's holding it's paw up. I want it to calm down before I give it the once over properly. It will be very well looked after until I find the owner. In box / message me if you have any ideas who owns it. Won't give a a good didcription on here for fear of any randoms saying it's their's when it isn't.
  15. Were there any CCTV cameras in the area? You can usually request a copy for a small fee, if it's a business.
