  1. Has the dancing bloke outside the Winter Gardens been done on here? I've spotted him a few times now. No music accompaniment. Just him on the steps outside the Winter Gardens (facing the Crucible) joyously dancing on the spot. I saw an inquisitive child go up to him and ask, "What are you doing?", to which he replied, "I'm DANCING!", before simply carrying on. He's raised a smile whenever I've spotted him. Enjoying himself, not harming a fly... More of it, I say. Does anyone know any more about this chap? *dances on spot in office*
  2. I think CEX's inflated prices are due to the fact that they offer more for trade value compared to cash, to people wanting to sell to them. Therefore, if people take the trade rather than cash price, they're locked into buying from CEX, meaning they can charge more.
  3. Please don't shoot the messenger if they've now sold out, but I noticed that Playtime in Sheffield city had a sign in the window stating that they had PS4s in stock. Perhaps this could be of use to a Christmas shopper desperately seeking one out I walked past aboutt twenty minutes ago. Their details : 103 Pinstone St Sheffield 0114 272 3723
  4. They should have drawn round him with chalk, like you see on crime capers, with two squares drawn next to him where the two CD singles lay.
  5. Interesting thread! I like to keep an open mind on various conspiracies, chemtrails included. What I would like to comment on are what I have seen with my own eyes, in particular one clear Spring morning last year, where I saw two aircraft flying in parallel, right across the sky, if you like 'from horizon to horizon'. Both left so-called 'chemtrails', and it looked as though they had turned round, because back they came, in parallel, to now leave four chemtrails overhead. They completely their pretty pattern by going the other way to leave a striking lattice pattern of chemtrails lingering in the sky. This was at 9am. The trails lingered, before expanding, leaving a milky grey sky. Now, I live in Rotherham, not on the flight path of Heathrow, and I wouldn't have thought two easyjet flights to Majorca would fly side by side. Anyway, just saying what I saw. I've seen numerous examples of this since.
  6. Thank you. I can get on with my day now! (nope, born in the seventies so that's my excuse!).
  7. I've reread this 10 times now and I still don't understand it. It's frustrating. It could be really, really funny, only if I got it. But I don't get it. It's like a puzzle that can't be solved, like Rainman trying to work out 'Who's on first base'.
  8. The only thing about the bus station that bothers me is the fact that the blonde girl who worked at the National Express ticket office looks to have now left. I'm gutted. She was lovely.
  9. I never, ever wish to be accosted in the likes of Currys, purely for the reason that their staff know very little about the items they are selling, therefore I don't value their opinion. Taking TVs for example, I find their knowledge to be spread thinly across all TVs - all makes, screen sizes, specifications and so on - meaning when asked very specific questions about a specific TV, they fall short. Not only this, it is very likely that their prices can be bettered online. Do all of your research online. AVForums is a great start for TV research, for example. Pick out the correct item for you using partisan opinions, and not the patter of a needy salesman. Pop into Currys if you like, just so you can have a look at the item (assuming they sell it of course). If all is well, go home, and order it online. I understand shopping in this manner is like sounding the death knell for stores such as Currys, but a lot of us don't have the spare cash these days, so they're just going to have to become more competitive with online competition.
  10. Yes, I, unlike others on this thread, understood your beef the minute I read your original post. I was just winding you up. Sorry
  11. @resident Perhaps the bus you thought you were catching was cancelled and you ended up catching the next bus which, for the timetable that bus would have been running to, was early when it reached it's timing stop. *scarpers*
  12. I wouldn't have thought there was vendetta by the train manager. It could just be something she says when the train is pulling into other stations also. As a long standing commuter (between Sheffield and Doncaster), the conductors' faces are all familiar to me now, as is their patter on the tannoy. All have their own individual characters. Some will just say, for example, '...Meadowhall', and that's it, whilst others think they are Tony Blackburn, wittering on and on about all sorts.
  13. I realise this is an old thread, but if anyone has trouble with Yodel (who are absolutely appalling by the way), your best bet is contacting them through Twitter. Sounds silly, but if you complain about their service, and with tweets being searchable and therefore public, they soon jump and sort your issue out.
  14. Does he tell you to have a nice weekend?
  15. This. Think of it this way. A games publisher will earn money when their product is sold. The seller (let's use Game as an example) will obviously get their slice of the pie also. So the game is sold, and everyone is happy, having got their slice of pie. However, Game actively encourage you to bring trade in the games they've just sold you, for a shiny new one. So they take your game off you, offering you a figure far less than they're planning on selling it for. Then they sell it on to a second punter (for not much less than it's brand new equivalent, I hasten to add). Only this time round, Game have got all of the pie, not just a slice, and the publisher does not see a penny this time round. Rinse and repeat, and Game has done rather well out of selling the same game five times. The pubisher has only earned money off the game once. Edit. That's not to say I feel sorry for the likes of EA, by the way. I don't. They have other means of racking up huge profits (online codes, for one). It's smaller publishers who are unfairly hit by this racket.
