  1. I don't want to mess around paying a 50p charge by phone. The machines should be working - after all the cost of the parking is paying for their up keep.
  2. As a direct result of this advert I have now found a company to do the site. Thank you for all your help
  3. I use taxis regularly and usually book a private cab, which are far more professional in their approach. Many Black cabs are old and in a poor condition. There used to be an age restriction on them, which should again be a law that is enforced. They are often cold. They are often dirty. The driver can keep you locked in the back – which should be illegal. Many of the drivers are unfriendly and discourteous The standard of their driving is often appalling. As part of their licence it is not unreasonable to expect that they at least know every area/suburb in Sheffield and drive to a minimum standard that I would propose should be advanced from the normal driving test.
  4. Thanks for all your replies – I am struggling to get on line so sorry for late response. I dropped the computer to my repair man yesterday, but he is away till today – so I have got my fingers crossed as I have foolishly not done a backup for several weeks. ---------- Post added 22-02-2015 at 09:48 ----------
  5. Hi Any help would be appreciated. When I turn my pc on it starts going through the motions then white writing on a black background says; [/Reboot and select proper boot deviceI] I can't get hold of my normal computer repair man until Monday. Is there anything I can try to get it working? Thx
  6. I am sorry that in my naivety (in the original post) I asked for a designer. Perhaps I should have asked for a developer. Whoever it is must be able to design it (with code or ready made tools) and of course ensure it works and that the on page SEO is correct. Thanks for the suggestions to date and the input from all. ---------- Post added 17-02-2015 at 09:32 ---------- I actually like the look of their website and may have overlooked their typo and contacted them - but what is unforgiveable for a company (especially a website developer) is the blank Facebook link on their contact page!
  7. No I didn't - please re read my post and subsequent postings
  8. You simply don’t read my initial post or further response to you. I am not requesting your help or anybodies help regarding the existing website I simply want recommendations for a website designer/developer
  9. I suggest you read my initial post. I am asking for recommendations for a website designer that I can pay to design a new website. I am not after free help or advice from anybody (-other than recommendations.) My present website is of no relevance – I want a new one designing. I will of course provide full details of my website to the prospective designer.
  10. I need a website designer or someone to recommend one To design a fairly simple (yet modern) website for my company. The present one has 6 main pages (Home, about us, FAQ, testimonials, view product) then about 16 pages (each of the 16 for a separate product that rarely change) I have a young target audience, so needs linking to social media etc. The website must be search engine friendly, and ideally the new designer will be able to see why my current website has slipped down Google ratings (but not the other search engines) The present website has a very strong name and has been active for about 15 years. About 2 years ago I had the website re-designed by a small local company and have been very disappointed with what I got for my money. At the time, I spoke to a number of website design companies – but obviously went for the wrong one, so I am determined to get it right this time!!! Any advice or recommends would be greatly appreciated.
  11. There are no blocks that thin so it has to be some kind of stud wall or 'dotted and dabbed' You can either: 1 drill the brick you mention and use longer screws (or if I was doing this I would use a long concrete fixing (which are superb on brick) - they do not need plugs - you drill the brick and the fixing screws directly into it. http://www.screwfix.com/p/multi-fix-gold-flat-countersunk-t30-recess-concrete-screw-7-5-x-100mm-pk100/98755) 2 Use a toggle fixing which you push through the first hole and then opens out in the cavity http://www.screwfix.com/p/rawlplug-spring-toggles-m3-x-50mm-pack-of-20/44319
  12. A Sheffield Forumer came and cut the tree up. It took him perhaps a hour and a half. I loaded the wood up later in the week and dropped it off at his house, so both parties happy.
  13. You may be correct. But then again if someone wants a large quantity of wood for free, with little work, you may not be.
