  1. The majority of sewing machines follow the shape of a letter N for threading, I can't draw on the keyboard but starting from the right(bobbin) loop around any hooks you come across (bearing the shape of the N in mind), you'll probably go down through the tension, around and back up, a loop above the tension and then down again through the needle. I use Alan Wharton (sewing machine repair man) 0114 2426755, if I have any great problems. He's very reasonable and there's not a lot he doesn't know about sewing machines. I live in S9 if I can be of further help.
  2. I just can't believe it!!!!!!!!!!My condolences to all the family and to everyone who knows him, I'm still hoping he turns up safe and breathing. He was our family doctor for all thirty years, from a junior doctor to a senior partner. He helped bring my two daughters into this world, helped me through a serious illness and was there for my husband whilst I was ill. He was one of the 'Old School' he knew us all by names and treat us as people not numbers. He was good for a giggle at times, but serious throughout, a brilliant man
  3. here are a few sites that I've found very useful in the past, enjoy:- http://www.imag-e-nation.com/ http://www.stitchingcards.com/ http://www.thelilacgarden.co.uk/index.html http://www.craftcreations.co.uk/ http://www.docrafts.co.uk/ http://www.cardsandcrafts.freeservers.com/index.html
  4. Can anyone tell me of a craft shop that sell these punches. I have googled till I'm dizzy and am still not having any luck with Numbers 3,4,6,7 and 8
  5. Hiya Honeyb35, I have pm'd you.
  6. Well said and I'll add my thanks to the bloke who got off his backside too. The council are also altering the bollards into a zebra crossing, well done planners, you seem to have got it right.
  7. Due to a terminal illness, one of our craft group members has a variety of craft books for sale (actually a donation to Hallamshire Neurocare - will be sufficient) our group will be meeting again in the Meeting Room above Firth Park Library next Monday 10a.m. - 1p.m. p.m. me if you are definately interested.
  8. I've already made a start on mine.I did about 15 larger ones last week and at the weekend prepared another 50 smaller ones. These now have the inners in them and are just ready for the toppers and peel offs. I can't work anymore and my family are now grown up and out of Sheffield, so it does pass me a lot of time, some days too much:hihi: Kittenta, I did advertise the mags on the forum about June of this year but no response. I have quite a few past Christmas specials so if you can make use of them and collect them p.m. me.
  9. I used to do one large project a year, with lots of smaller ones before my next big one, I can't see me ever going back to it again, unless I'm asked for something specific. If anyone on here is looking for anything in particular I have loads of charts and mags to get rid of.
  10. After a few more lessons I've now uploaded some others:thumbsup: see post above
  11. No I'll let her see how useless I am at this computer lark:hihi: Well done Kittenta's little stitcher. Just managed to edit my previous post, thanks
  12. Beansforyou, that is beautiful - encourage her while she's young. The last time my grandaughter came I started her off with plastic canvas and wool she loved it.
  13. Thanks Kittenta, I think it took me about six months, I still love it, I wish I could live there. Most of my scenes have cottages in them, but this is my favourite. I've got in a real mess trying to upload the pics, I need some more lessons from hubby:hihi: I've asked admin to delete this link as it goes to an album instead of just the photo?? I'll have to sort it before I put the others up. Does this work?? http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p295/Shelagh31/sewing1-1.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p295/Shelagh31/sewing2.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p295/Shelagh31/sewing3.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p295/Shelagh31/sewing4.jpg
