  1. i agree with all he says and i am sure many do,football and the t.v. these days are full of rubbiish.the premier league is all about four or five teams the managers and the players think they are gods the rest are just there to make up the numbers.let them go it alone and all us local supporters can get on with what i watch football for to see my local team of choice play.best post i have seen on here.
  2. i would like to know why he is involved in so many clubs we get no players from them they do not get big crowds.it must cost a fair bit of money and have faith in the people in charge.ican only think the land is worth a bit otherwise it does not make sense.
  3. so why pay wages to france, little, stewart, bunn, who are no better than what we have and why let bronby go when he is a far better player than what we have.the way football is going it is becoming more a fast mobile game were players have to break quick and maybe go into positions from were they can do damage.as clough said when you have the ball attack when you have not defend.we have not got these players.i have seen mopst of the home games this season and nobody from midfield ever puts the opponents defence under pressure.
  4. utd. have no pace in the midfield he should move walker to right side midfield, quinn is usless would not get in a good non league side he must have some sort of hold on blackwell.montgomery gives to many free kicks away.we have potentialy a good strike force but they do not get the service ward works his socks off down the right and most danger comes from him.why did we sign france he never plays.we will do allright against the lower sides but not the top sides we are to quiet on the field no leadership and not strong enough physicaly or mentally.
  5. utd. could not afford smith, end of story.
  6. utd go meekly out of the cup again, what a differance with leeds they gave all right to the end and we just play hoping something will happen instead of getting stuck in against a poor premier side.just shows how far below that level we still are.
  7. the big hitters did not go around bashing anybody up,they were used to collect bad debts by the so called business people of the day.they only got involved in fights when chancers and wannabee hot heads thought they could make a name for themselves.henry was a great guy and i miss him every day most of the time he got into trouble by sticking up for other people.
  8. my grandparents lived on the manor called jenkinsons, george my grandad, edith my grandma.their kids kenneth, eliza, henry, rita.grandad and grandma brought me up,they went to pipworth school as i did until 1955.also the grays lived on hastilar rd,harry and eliza gray.their kids were harry, andrea and stuart yhey went to st swithuns.names i remember were jubbs, matthews, roberts, gunneys, taylors, pinchbecks, leafwoods, rhodes, beals, john jones, firths.had some great times on the circle and in bowden homestead woods.
  9. the attercliffe palace was not as far down as the stadium it was were the carpet shop is if the shop is still there.it was as far as i remember never a cinema the palace ciema was further down the common.were the stadium is was brown bayleys.
  10. to say all the hard men like dennis hobson, kenny roberts, keirran brown, and my uncle henry jenkinson were scared of ronnie crookes is crazy.he was not bad but not as indicted to be feared to that extent.i think he also fought at the granville road fair when if you went 3rounds you got paid.
  11. bradshaw and bly became part of r.d.b. freight lines at birley vale which is now shepherds distribution.

  14. kath and neville lived next door to us on jaunty lane, carl played for sheff unt. and darren played for weds as a junior but had a bad injury but he did come back to play for york and newcastle he then played for a number of non leaue clubs, dont know what he does now but carl is bricklaying and plays masters football for untd.they had the blue bell at hackenthorpe the other son i think simon was a barmen there.saw them not long ago now retired and live near woodhouse.
