Police action on motorists endangering cyclists
shand1 replied to Cyclone's topic in General Discussions
I can cope with one or two cyclists riding sensibly & i give them room, but what really gets me is when there are cyclists in groups all wearing their pervy lycra suits who persist in blocking the road just because they can ! -
Just for a laugh... don't bother to SORN it, It will be much more fun watching the DVLA trying to clamp a car that's in bits

Just thought i'd mention Brian Ashley, better known as Brian the singing miner, who passed away recently. Brian aquired fame in the 1980's with his terrible (but entertaining) singing ! http://www.derbyshiretimes.co.uk/news/chesterfield-legend-brian-ashley-passes-away-1-8197439

Buying a ford capri - common faults?
shand1 replied to drummer54as's topic in Sheffield Classic Car Group
I had a couple of capri's a many years ago, i had to replace the rear leaf springs on both cars & they can often snap without much warning ! And, yes... you will certainly learn a lot about car control, ..Try it in the snow next, don't forget a couple of bags of sand in the back though, or it won't go far in the snow ! -
Scrapped cars MEGATHREAD - No buying or selling
shand1 replied to paulpyatt's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Scrap prices are rubbish at the moment, ..if it only has the problems that you have mentioned, it shouldn't cost too much to have it repaired -
Cheap or counterfeit brake linings can cause the problem that you are having ! Try replacing them with better quality pads/shoes !

I drove a jimny a few years ago on a moderately windy day, absolutely terrifying !

Although the MOT history checker is a good thing, i have also found that it can sometimes be a little confusing or innacurate when a vehicle has a personal / cherished number plate, mainly because you sometimes get the history of previous vehicles that the number plate was on !

Engine management light on after using Tesco petrol
shand1 replied to neeeeeeeeeek's topic in General Discussions
Although using supermarket petrol doesn't cause any major issues in my car, i don't generally buy it now because i have noticed that i get about 2-3mpg more on branded petrol, which pretty much wipes out any saving on buying the supermarket stuff ! -
How do i get rid of chickweed in veggie patch ?
shand1 posted a topic in Allotment & Gardening Group
My veggie patch is covered in chickweed. For obvious reasons i don't want to use any chemicals, so i just keep pulling it out, but it just keeps on coming back & spreading Any ideas ? -
Anyone know who can help with bee removal?
shand1 replied to TheTwirler's topic in General Discussions
We had bees in our bird box last year, even though it is close to the (sometimes open) patio window they didn't come in the house & weren't really a problem. They will go away when they are ready -
I would think that a welding supplies would be able to supply brazing rods & flux ?
