  1. We have a leak under the extension of our property in the main (lead) supply pipe. Floors are concrete so it's impractical to just get to the leak so what we 're possibly needing is a re-route of the supply round to the back of the house, either rejoining the original pipe or new internal connections. Need some recommendations or further advice. Thanks in advance. Oh! Based in S5 if that helps!
  2. Big Deal shut down ages ago. Reflex records (which was on Union Street) has moved to just down from the Casbah. They deal in second hand stuff but no idea on prices etc given. Hope that helps.
  3. I'd say Electro as well..great range and some 2nd hand stuff too. Reverb (former Sound Control) not too much stock in at the moment and wont be for a while I reckon, Millingtons great for strings and things but not a great range of guitars (well none really) and much the same for the other shops. Wizard.......well they're so rude they even kicked a rep out of the shop once!!!! Its worth the trip to Electro definately. Askfor Pod or Carl.
  4. I'd recommend Steve Wilson from Wilson Property Services as well. Just fitted a kitchen for me and done a great job, very competitively priced as well. Will definately use him again for some other jobs we have. His number is 07901963684.
  5. I grow my own Habanero chillies, quite easy to do on the kitchen window sill in direct sunlight. May be the best route unless you find a specialist ethnic food shop.
  6. Yup......2 for All Saints as well!! When you log in, the account is deleted.....at least FR are doing their bit ......
  7. Correct. Most other shops have been keen to offer assistance to people with items under warranty and of course the manufacturers warranty still holds but for those that have ordered goods and paid a deposit and are waiting or waiting for goods, that's all in the hands of the administrators. I'm sure that the new shop would be willing to help with most repair under warranty queries (for the sake of their old customers) but as far as refunds etc, then that's not strictly anything to do with them.
  8. The Sound Control company has gone into administration which has also included Turnkey and Soho Soundhouse. 6 of the shops, including the Sheffield one have been bought by Arbiter Group who are distributors. The buyout has included some of the directors of Sound Control who will run the new company (called Reverb) on a day to day basis. So although Sound Control is no more, there will continue to be a music shop on City Road for a while yet (I hope!). The other Sound Control shops around the country have closed but some have been bought out by other shops (PMT for example). Steel City Guitars as far as I know have gone bankrupt. Wizard on Eccy Rd Sth are still there but with their customer service and prices, I sincerely hope not. Millingtons music (where the old Fox's shop) at the top of the Moor is about the only town centre shop for accesories and such. Strings about the same price as Sound Control was and a bit less out of the way. Not a great selection of guitars but then again, for the last few years, who has?
  9. Drop a line to Rock of the North who have a "name & shame" policy on their comments page. If nothing else it puts the word round to other bands that enter into any deal with the venue to be aware of whats happened..... http://www.rockofthenorth.f2s.com/ It happens to way more bands than you think as well!!!!
  10. As stated earlier, the Sound Control in town has now closed. Sound Control on City Road doesn't stock keyboards per se, more leaning towards stage pianos and controller keyboards. The old Fox's at the top of the Moor has been bought by it's old manager John Millington and mainly sell home keyboards and pianos and sheet music etc. Depending on what you want give them a try!
  11. The Hornets Psi Phi Bailey's Comet Boy On A Dolphin (apologies if mentioned already) Is this list just for original bands or bands playing the "clubs" too!
  12. The small booklet was called the "Clubman's Guide". Pretty sure it's still around and available in clubs. Mercury newspaper has lots of listings and on the web, Bellhouse club has it's own site. There's also Rock of the North and Barnsley Entertainment which have some listings and links to gigs and band websites etc! Hope this helps!
  13. Great post...100% in agreement.....one important element missing though.......celebrities!!!!
  14. The goods stay instore until they are paid for ( be a bit daft otherwise). Deposit is usually non refundable but it's an agreement with you and the store not a credit agreement so there's no need for a licence. In the old days it was called a Christmas club only nowadays retaillers want it to be xmas all year round!
