  3. Another club closed, due to be demolished to make way for flats no doubt, shame really, used to love that place
  4. Ah right, I know my father (Alec) worked at Rutland Rd, not sure what years most likely 50s/early 60s then moved to Wincobank site to be nearer home until it closed down in the late 60s, his brothers Ray and Harry also worked at Rutland Rd
  5. That's right mate, what years did you work there ?, my father and several of his brothers worked for the SBC
  6. That looks like where the 2 corner shops were, Taylor's and Pipers, I seem to remember Pipers being Mcnoughts at one time, I lived at the other end of Foxglove Rd near the old phone box
  7. its not a matter of perspective for me,i pay my council tax and part of that tax goes towards the police service, i cant remember the last time i saw a copper on the beat after dark, and i am not bothered about other countries/cities, i live in sheffield and expect the police to do their job, when we got burgled i gave them cctv information etc etc and they knew who it was but they never bothered to get back to me as regards what happened to the culprits
  8. might be a bit off topic but what i find annoying about trying to see a doctor at my medical centres is, its nearly impossible to get an appointment when you are working full time, my centre wont let you make an appointment for a specific day, say next week, i have to ring at 8.30 on the morning but when i do they are fully booked ??? how ? when i managed to get in last time it was full of pensioners and unemployed who can go anytime, really makes me feel like packing in work and playing the system. so yes doctors should work weekends on a rotor system like a lot of us do and maybe i would get an appointment on my day off
  9. Mmm really sensible lady, if true husband has cheated, meaning committed adultery strong case for a divorce so would not have a leg to stand on in court, but she moves out of the house ???? silly woman ! but then again most likely to be a RH stunt, cant abide the station always reporting yesterdays news and even dislike that slob of a DJ thats behind it even more
