  1. Genuine question this as I've not really been following this whole contract saga. I was on the 120 bus yesterday and we pulled up outside the RHH. I saw a group of strikers outside with placards saying tired doctors make mistakes. From my little understanding of the new contract, isnt one of the points is it's going to reduce the maximum numbers of hours a doctor can work and change shift patterns. Will this lead to doctors been more tired than what they possibly are working the current contract.
  2. Don't blame the passenger for using something the airline a proving them blame the airlines for offering recling seats along with tight seat pitch. Take Thomson they offer a 28 inch seat pitch on their Boeing 738, wouldn't matter how cheap the fare was and even if they offered non recling seats I still wouldn't fly with them. There are very few airlines that offer non recling seats ( mostly short haul budget airlines ) if it was such a big issue all airlines would be making there economy cabins non recling. As for the TV screen issue, every economy flight that I've been on when the seat in front is reclined you are able to adjust the angle of the TV screen. Again not the passengers fault for a flawed design if you can't see your TV screen due to a recling seat.
  3. Wouldn't it be less trouble all round if you just accept that passengers will while ever airliners offer recling seats in economy class are going to recline the seat. It's you with the problem not the passenger using something that the airline is providing them. Recling seats in ecomony are not going anywhere anytime soon. I suggest whenever you have to fly economy you limit yourself to airlines that have non recling seats or ones that don't offer a ridiculously small seat pitch.
  4. Has the question been answered on how this ID number would be made visable at night. Clocks go back soon, theres going to be plenty of people commuting too and from work in the dark. What about owners of multiple bikes, is it one ID number for all bikes or a separate number for each bike.
  5. Non reclining seats will have nothing to do with Easyjet been a successful airline. I'm 100% sure Easyjet would still be as successful even with reclining seats. Plenty of highly profitable airlines that offer reclining seats.
  6. So the minimum weekly wage for a over 21 yr old working 40 hours a week is £260. What do you think the minimum weekly wage for a over 21 yr old contracted to work 30 hours a week should be.
  7. But would home contents insurance cover the bike if it was locked up in town and got nicked. I think the OP is looking for a specific cycle insurance policy I'm sure home contents wouldn't cover what the OP needs.
  8. It will only help the idiots that think I pay VED VED pays for the roads, so im more entitled to use the road than someone who doesn't pay any.
  9. Some may say bicycles should have insurance but road tax / VED has absolutely nothing to do with how much damage something causes. I'm sure a band A vehicle can cause as much damage as a band M vehicle yet they both pay 2 totally different amounts of tax.
  10. So you do think all motor vehicles that are VED band A should not be on the road. What does tax have to do with how much damage a vehicle, bike, mobility scooter does.
  11. So you are totally against band A vehicles like a BMW i3 not having to pay any VED.
  12. And what does any of that have to do with how much duty road tax or whatever you want to call it should be paid.
  13. Stated in a earlier post band A vechicles pay £0.00, bicycles would fall into this category.
  14. Taking into account everything from manufacturing costs to endorsement deals and Gillette have loads, at the end of the day they charge what they think people are willing to pay. And that can be said for a lot of things we purchase in the shops.
  15. It's got nothing to do with not wanting to do the travelling. I know many people on lower and higher wages than MP's, myself included that get paid travel expenses when having to go between different work locations as part of their job.
