This is a special fundraising concert in aid of Under The Stars, a Sheffield social enterprise which runs nightclubs and music workshops for people with learning disabilities. Come and join us for what is going to be a truly special night with the foot stomping covers band, The Rogues; the amazingly talented Julia McInally; and Under The Stars' very own girlband, the Sparkle Sistaz. There will also be a raffle on the night with some fantastic prizes Friday 3rd October, 7.30pm til late, Niagara Conference & Leisure Centre, Niagara Road, Sheffield S6 1LU. Tickets £10 - available from Under The Stars, 0114 233 1869/mia@underthestars.org.uk. All proceeds will be matched by a generous local funder and will go to help Under The Stars run their fantastic music activities for people with learning disabilities.

Under The Stars runs nightclubs and music workshops for people with a range of learning disabilities. Our newest project has trained 6 unemployed adults with learning disabilities to DJ. The culmination of this project is our event on Thursday 11th Sept @ DAda Bar, Trippet Lane, supported by established Sheffield DJs Alex Deadman (Junglist Alliance), Winston Hazel (Kabal/Forgemasters) and Andy H (Tuesday Club/Quality Control) This is a free event and we think it could be the start of something really special, linking together established DJs and electronic artists with new acts from the learning disability community. We want as many people to come down as possible, to see the new DJs in action and to make something exciting happen in the Sheffield learning disability music scene. DAda is a fantastic venue, stocked with great beers so you've got no excuse not to come

Hello, we are making lavender hearts to raise money for our organisation that works with people with learning disabilties. We run music workshops and then nightclubs for people with learning disabilities. More info can be found here http://www.reach4thestars.org.uk or http://www.underthestars.org.uk. We are going to get people with learning disabilties to make the hearts and then we'll sell them to help us to raise some money. I have found that you can dry lavender in the oven so fresh or dry would be great. Thanks, please pm or email me on contact@underthestars.org.uk if you can help

Sheffield mencap is a local charity which runs social clubs and services for children and adults with learning disabilities. They are trying to raise money to celebrate their jubilee year and its hard in these times. Check out their website here : http://www.sheffieldmencap.org.uk for more info. They'd be grateful of any help to reach their fundraising target to try and update their leaking gym -
Photo printing on cake in Sheffield
underthestar replied to underthestar's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I went to Asda Handsworth today to get me cake done. The machine would not accept my USB and I was informed that it regulary does not work. The girl suggested I went to print the photo out upstairs at my expense and she wouold scan it in. The lady on the photo booth was so rude, and unhelpful as the machine printed out a pic that I have already printed numerous times and it was blurry. She said there was nothing they could do, both machines were broke and the staff were entirelt useless and I am cake less for a party in 3 hours. -
