  1. Prime Minister, I feel extremely disappointed to hear that despite overwhelming evidence of an assault by a uniformed officer upon an innocent member of the public, there will be no criminal proceedings. Prime Minister, you expressed surprise when there was a public swell of sympathy and dare I say support for Raoul Moat. Yet consistently, the police are never held to account. After the shocking violent events of Stockwell tube station, (5 years ago yesterday!) and then this brutality, one wonders when will the Police be brought under the same justice system as the rest of us? Were I to have been the one to assault a Police Officer who then subsequently died, would I have been afforded the same protection under law - no Sir - I think not. It is embarrassing to hear the institutionalised spin by the police in the wake of both deaths. Do you not feel embarrassed? In any institution which exercises power there will be a minority who abuse it. Without a proper people's supervisory body, how do you expect us to ever trust the police when it so easy to whitewash their crimes? You talk of transparency, please can we see some that really matters. Respectfully,
  2. Gave up! - Now for sale in the classifieds....
  3. Also check the wireless settings in the hub, just type 'home' into the address bar on any webpage and it will bring up the router config screen. (I use a BT business hub as well, by far the best router I have used, and packed with so many extra features too!)
  4. I upgraded it a while ago, its 32mb Ram, and a 3gb Hdd now. Sadly lost the accs when I moved house a while back. Put your coat back, I'm proud of the Libretto! It was the first real netbook, especially considering its age, and when I used to connect to the interweb way back when, I could get online in no more than 4 minutes - and that was blazingly fast! I just wanna resurrect it, it's uses are limited, but it is still useful!
  5. It's a challenge yeah, and I think it'll sap every last bit of level-headedness from me by the time I'm done, so I think, as kind and as tempting the offer of the BBC B is, - I'll pass thankyou.
  6. So I connect the Libretto hard drive to my home pc using an adapter I just bought off eBay, use the home computer to install office to the Libs HDD? or copy the cd over to the Libs HDD? (sorry, need to play dumb here a bit) Drivers I guess (as has been said earlier) I can source off the net and copy them into a nice little folder on the hdd and install them when the HDD is back in the Lib. Thanks for the help guys, keep it coming...
  7. LINK to Lib HERE just ignore the accs as I don't have any! It has a PCMCIA SLOT, and an IR port. That's it. (and the IR port needs the drivers too lol)
  8. Is it possible to install office this way as well do you know? Doing it the way you suggest might well be my last ditch attempt... Wish me luck... I'm going in...
  9. Ah well, seems it might be a lost cause after all. I don't wanna send it to Libretto heaven, it works so well, and the battery holds hours of charge, so expect to see it on eBay anytime soon....
  10. I could, but I would also have to buy an external cd drive to plug into it amongst other things. I wouldn't mind buying these things if it was likely I'd use them often enough afterwards. All I need is the Lib up and running properly, with the drivers sorted, and my office 97cd installed. What I'm looking for is for someone to say to me, 'yeah, bring it over and we'll sort it for you' and for me to give them a good drink out of it for their trouble. Any takers?
  11. Thanks for that. Have already trawled the net, but what I need is for someone to install the stuff for me so I don't have to buy any extra hardware. I don't wanna be buying cd drives and floppy drives etc, just to install drivers and office. Willing to pay someone to sort it for me while I sit in their kitchen drinking their coffee....
  12. Can anyone help me with installing drivers for this old little machine? I have no external floppy or cd drive, and there are no USBs. Already running windows 98, and I want to install the correct drivers, and MS Office (Which I have a genuine copy of on CD) It has a PCMCIA slot, and that's about it! I don't need to install anything else, I won't ever need updates for any programs etc, just need help with installing the base drivers and office. Any help appreciated!
