  8. Not exactly, how about self published 9 Graphic Novels, 6 set in Sheffield, they're available from Blackwells Mappin Street, Rare and Racey, Broomhill's Galaxy 4 and Record Collector, plus Sheffield's Space Centre on the Wicker and include... Three Surreal Murder Mysteries (not for kids) Meadowhell: The True Horror of Shopping Attercliffe Prowler: From the Tunnels of Hell Football Crazy: The Theatre of Nightmares (available as United or Wdnesday) Other Local titles Sheffield Outlaws: Robin Hood 2020 Eyam: The Plague Village UFO Mystery Stainless Steel 1913 (also available from the Millenium Gallery Shop) My advice would be, just go for it, if you write and draw, and have a computer then start scanning your images or draw straight onto a program, then get your work out there... All the comics are also available online from publishers like Kindle, Nook and Apple, for more info see http://cdgraphicnovels.blogspot.co.uk

  10. Hello General With me, it's story first, beginning, middle and most importantly end, usually with a twist... and then dialogue. I do the art myself and that comes next, but with the story and dialogue in mind, leaving space in each frame for characters to talk into (for speech bubbles). But often the local locatiopns or the look of characters throws up new narrative ideas and often changes way they speak... and sometimes what they actually say You could check some pages out at http://cdgraphicnovels.blogspot.co.uk Hope that sort of answers your question... cheers Craig
  11. Yeah, one of my nephews did a project like that at college and he's heading off to Uni next year, so good luck, hope it goes well for you. My latest comic is linked to the centenary of the creation of stainless steel in Sheffield by Harry Brearley. It's already available to download and will be in all the usual local shops next week, but I'm also trying to get some of the Sheffield musuems and galleries interested... It's actually called 'Stainless Steel', but combines the historical facts with comic book steampunk style fiction. If you fancy a look, you can check out some early rough sample pages on my blog, http://cdgraphicnovels.blogspot.co.uk
  12. Yeah... You can get them on CDrom packaged in slimline DVD cases with wrap around covers from the Space Centre on the Wicker... Blackwells on Carver Street, in Broomhill from the Record Collector or Galaxy 4, at Rare and Racey on Devonshire Green and the Star Building in the city centre stocks the five Sheffield titles.
  13. Thanks, Akeem B, but I reckon I'll stick to gathering an older audiience, via my blog... Anyway, sales are looking up now the Sheffield Star have got involved.
  14. Blackwells have all the Graphic Novels and comics together. My stuff is next to Iron-Man and Superman, they must have thought comics, kids and me being local, perfect. But my narratives are quite complicated and are mostly macabre horror... I was hoping more Creative Writing courses, at least GCSE level... Thank you for the information, if you're right, I think I will give it a miss.
  15. Hello People Posted this on the general forum, but didn't get any replies, hoping somebody can help? 'Does anybody have experience of World Book Day? Blackwells want me to get involved. I write and draw Graphic Novels/Comics set in Sheffield, but they aren’t aimed at kids, the narratives are quite complicated? Is this just a junior and infant school thing?' http://cdgraphicnovels.blogspot.co.uk
