  1. popped in today and picked up some Golden Tetras. Had a chat with the fella who served me, they seem to know what they are talking about. He said they have sourced some really good fish and not just "the usuall" ones and they have basically undercut everyone on price. He said they put new fish on sale on fridays but they have been quarentined for two weeks before being put out. They seem to have settled in pretty well. I'll let you know how they get on.
  2. Went to Jollyes at Meadowhall retail park today. First time i've been for a while. They have now started selling tropical fish. They look good quality, clean and tidy, nicely stocked etc and also good prices. Just wondered if anyone has bought any tropical fish from Jollyes or heard anything about the quality etc.
  3. Hi all. Me and the missus are planning a trip to New York in Jan 2014. We are looking at going for a week and I want to do everything. Id love to do the cheesey touristy things as well as some of the special things that only "locals" get up to. I am after any help, advice and tips you guys can give, any recomendations on places to visit, best/cheapest times to visit, best way to travel etc etc etc, whatever information you can chuck my way will be greatly received. We have well over a year to get it all planned and I really want to get everything in. Look forward to hearing from you all.
  4. me and the missus joined EIS (English Institute of Sport) next to Ice Sheffield. It belongs to Fitness Unlimited so you can use Pondsforge, Hillsborough, Don Valley and I think there may be a couple more. Includes all classes and swimming etc and the ones we use have private member changing rooms and a spa area for members only. We mainly use EIS. No complaints. realy nice and modern equipment and staff are nice and friendly. Would highly recomend. Seen a few celebs knocking about around there too so cant be too shabby. If you show some interest in them you can usualy get a free days trial (although they will use this to try and sell it to you).
  5. Had a boiler installed by help-link last year. To keep the warranty going we have to have an annual service. They are offering it to me for a "special" price of £76.50 inc vat. Any idea if this is reasonable or if they are just ripping me off. Never had anyting like this done before. Have checked previous posts on this but are realy old. Many thanks guys.
  6. just registered. Thankyou very much.
  7. Broke the dipstick on my 52 plate Yaris. Have contacted dealer about £15. Have emailed a scrap yard on brightside lane, they never replied and have phoned the guys across from the police station on attercliffe but they didnt have anything in. Any recomendations???
  8. We shop at Morrisons everyweek (usualy at Hillsborough) the last two weeks we have been very fortunate that someone has seen us in the queue with a trolley full and given us a voucher for £5 off when you spen £40. These were official Morrisons ones, not the ones from the Sun newspaper. I asked the kind lady who gave me the voucher this week where she got them from and she said she got them in the post. Im just wondering if anyone on here has had these vouchers and/or knows how to get things like this in the post?
  9. Have had a look through the mega-thread, hope its not a wood for the tree kind of thing as i couldnt see this but does anybody know if regular glasses fit under the I-MAX 3D ones. Ive head these are different to the bog standard 3D glasses and sort of wrap around? Just wondered if I would get my giggs under them ok?
  10. Got a 52 plate Yaris and when she is first started up it sticks going in and out of first gear. Once she's warmed through she seems ok. Reverse gear always seems very stiff to get into gear too. Friend of a friend says it sounds like some bushes have gone, I really havent got a clue. Anyone out there got any ideas as to what the problem "could" be and also any idea of the cost involved? Car is due for service and MOT soon, is that the best time to look at getting it fixed? Any and all advice very welcome.
  11. Thanx for that dizzyblonde. Did you find they charged a fair price or did you notice if there ever seemed to be additional problems?
  12. thanks for that. Will give them a ring in morning. any more advice on either of these would be great.
  13. Car due for service and MOT in next few weeks. I work near Darnall so this place would be ideal as it is just next to Quick Fit on Greenland Road. Its my first car and my first service/MOT so realy have no clue about this at all. (hope im not gonna be sold a waffle bracket and guzinter pin because i would probably buy spares ). Quoting £130 for a service and MOT (free re-test). Just wondered if anyone out there can recomend these guys (or not as the case may be). Any help and or recomendations would be gratefully recieved.
