  1. interesting piece of information that. maybe i ought to print out page 6 and stick it to my door. maybe people like this will get the hint then.
  2. it just gets so annoying doesn't it handypandy.
  3. obviously there's nothing to stop them knocking on people's doors, but this guy had clearly been looking for something he could use as spiel, in this case the minor damage to my car.
  4. hi. about 7 this evening got a knock at my door. it was a bloke who was asking me about an insurance claim. he'd noticed slight damage to my car, which is something i did myself about 4 years ago. hmmm. alarm bells started ringing. he didn't say who he was or who he represented. i called 101 and reported the matter to the police. the guy was about late 30's early 40's, stocky, short dark hair, and wore a dark coloured raincoat type of thing. this was in the longley s5 area. just wanted to make fellow forumers aware of what i think is a definate scam. i told the bloke that i didn't discuss things on the doorstep and asked him to leave. please be aware, this bloke looked dodgy. my 6th sense told me something wasn't right.
  5. my kids and i find this show thoroughly entertaining. of course magic isn't real. the real magic is in the set up an execution of the illusion. done properly, it's mind blowing stuff. may i also recommend taking a look at some of the suff dynamo does. check him out on u tube. amazing.
  6. this is oh so true. thumbs up for common sense :)
  7. had to see the funny side of the taxi driver trying to remember the address where the fare dodgers were.bet those two women wondered what on earth was going off. also one or 2 of the lasses at work have the hots for Tim Scothern. if you see this Tim, thought you'd like to know.
  8. Just come that way about 20 mins ago. got diverted up Wensley Street, then left near top to Hinde House Lane. down there then left onto Bolsover Place (i think) left at end, back to lights at fir vale, continued on journey along herries road. Back to the incident, think I saw one of those private ambulance vehicles at the scene. Traffic wasn't too bad on the diversion route.
  9. thanks for the info pkingy. Thought it might be more than that. still a lot though
  10. Hoping someone can give me some information. I have already searched for other threads on this subject, but the most recent one is only 2008. Does anyone know what the cost is to have one of these constructed ? I have already looked on the council website for information and it should be no problem having one put in.
  11. The bit I found amusing, was the lad that was followed into the petrol station in Rotherham, and then continued to deny he was the driver, even though he'd already been spotted by the police. I lost count on how many times he said he wasn't the driver, even when the copper said it was on the cctv. Honestly, do these people think that the police were born yesterday?
  12. I once saw someone with their dongle out in the Peace Gardens. I was shocked at first until I saw them get their lap-top out and plugged the dongle in:hihi:
  13. yeah. He's featured on programmes like this in the past.
