  1. Good to see you too The_Daddy, hope you're thriving :0)
  2. How terribly sad, PT was a fabulous human being who passionately represented the interests of vulnerable groups and the underrepresented. Didn't know Mort had also passed, had many laughs with her around Broomhill in the early 80's. RIP both. BF x
  3. ..and herein lies the problem, any attempts to conduct a grown up conversation are thwarted by individuals who have a vested interest in promoting their own hate agenda (you're perfectly entitled to be a racist if you want to be btw), rather than any genuine interest in the victims of CSE. In the minds of these people the abusers being Muslim is the significant feature, it somehow aggravates the offence. I doubt the victims of abuse regard white perpetrators any better or worse than Muslim ones.
  4. Pretty much agree tfh, certain professions attract particular kinds of people with questionable personality traits where they have positions of influence over people, especially vulnerable groups. The Met particularly as a police organisation has long had a reputation for machismo and misogyny so maybe it attracts individuals of that personality type? Obviously I'm sure the majority of Met coppers are decent people who want to do the best for the communities they serve but they do seem to have more than their fair share of wrong uns as you say.
  5. Bloody hell, we've all been there Cress! 🤭
  6. That's true tfh, however the many who don't commit crime have often also experienced positive childhood influences which have supported their resilience and development. Hence why there are so many examples of adults from impoverished and vulnerable backgrounds who quote the difference a teacher/sports coach/friend's parent made to their early lives. It would be interesting to see what was in Wayne Couzens background that went unchecked, it certainly wouldn't mitigate his behaviour but it might offer some clues to the adult he became.
  7. We don't like that kind of friend busdriver! 😆 Ey up Daddy, good to see you 👍 Ps having had a tin of Heinz Ravioli when you were in J2 doesn't imply any Roman ancestry! 😂
  8. Indeed tfh, but parading the cup in Derbyshire...how did Sheffield FC end up there?!
  9. Notwithstanding that my dear Wallace, it's the first time in my life I've been able to speculate on a footballing matter (I'm a Blade remember) with any degree of positivity.
  10. Since there's a significant probability that football could be 'coming home' on Sunday night, I look forward to celebrating the arrival of a suitably inflated pig's bladder at Sheffield FC. Are there any other fitting locations to welcome its homecoming?
  11. Thanks longcol, good to see you're still enjoying your French adventure!
  12. Thanks cress and tinfoil, good to hear from you. Glad to pop by from my Lancashire exile (eughh!) and say hi! 🤣
  13. Happy NY to all my old SF mates, hope 21 brings much love & happiness...and the demise of covid!
