A 10 mile walk in an absolutely stunning area with views that have to be seen to be believed. The walk takes place on good paths but there is an overall height gain of 420 metres. Details:- Meet at Errwood Hall Car Park at 10.15 for 10.30 start. The car park is situated on the south-west edge of the Errwood reservoir. It can be accessed from the A5004 Buxton to Whaley Bridge road, or from the B5470 Macclesfield to Whaley Bridge road. Please note that it is the 3rd car park that you come across on this road, and it is advised that you set off in plenty of time to be able to find the starting point.

We shall be along for this one :-) -
This is one of the best walks we do, and on a nice day is about as good as it gets in the Peak District walk-wise. The walk is 9.5 miles altogether and begins with a gentle stretch alongside Peakshole Water between Hope and Castleton, before taking us round the back of Peveril Castle up the steep, stoney footpath that cuts through the limestone gorge of Cave Dale. At the top the route then takes us to Windy Knoll before we encounter a short, sharp climb to the summit of Mam Tor. From here we descend to the ancient crossing point of Hollin’s Cross before climbing Back Tor on our way to the top of Lose Hill. From here it’s downhill all the way back to Hope. Details:- Meet outside the Old Hall pub, Hope, S33 6RH at 10.00 for 10.15 start. Train leaves Sheffield at 9.20 arriving at Hope at 9.45. Return train is at 16.38. Pay and display car park or on-street parking in Hope.
