  1. Hello Does anyone rent out rotovators or even better rotovate allotments? A few years ago I had a man named Andy who used to be on this forum as Bill and Ben come and do the allotment for me. I unfortunately no longer have his number. If anyone provides this service please could you get in touch with prices etc. I am based in Harthill. Thanks
  2. Trigon 350 litre corner fish tank for sale with beech coloured cabinet stand. Tank in good order with filter and thermostat heater however the light unit has stopped working. open to reasonable offers.
  3. Reason for Rehome / Sale - Changing house layout packing up fish tank. Time Scale - ASAP Sale Amount Free to good home but will need large buckets to collect. Location Harthill S26 Approximate size now and full grown size 1 large sail fin plec approx 12" 3 clown loaches approx 3 to 4" 1 Cyphotilapia frontosa Tanginiykan cichlid female (Blind in one eye from damage during a fight about 4 years ago but otherwise in good health) Minimum fish tank size needed - large for the plec Any Current health problems One of the fish is blind in one eye but all in good health COmpatibility with other fish - Cichlid is not a general community fish but the others are. Moderate to experienced for the cichlid. Easy to feed Dried or frozen food. Cichlid cannot be put in with small and peaceful fish as it will eat them! Cichlid likes pebbled bottom and has digging behaviour. Temperature range Tropical Willing to separate to rehome to suitable homes. Packing up tank after fish keeping for many years.
  4. Hello, prices have rocketed this year due to poor crops. the Potato farm near where I live in Harthill only had half a crop and they are now £10 a sack! They are not as good quality as previous too with the odd green ones. They are Marfona and generally a good all rounder. I have used all my home grown ones, have bought a sack but also stocked up on Aldi canned ones at 19p a can!
  5. Found one and it is yummy, not sure what the shelf life will be like but will keep a check on it. The link to the recipe is here if anyone has a glut of blackcurrants they need to do something with. http://www.britishlarder.co.uk/home-made-blackcurrant-cordial/#axzz203CeflJE
  6. Unfortuantely it is freezer space I am short of but a good suggestion for if I have more later and room in the freezer. I will have another google and see what I can find. Thanks for the reply, Sue
  7. Does anyone have a tried and tested blackcurrant cordial recipe? I have about 1kg of them from my allotment and not so keen on eating them o'natural. Love Ribena and blackcurrant squash so fancied making my own. I have found 2 recipes both wildy different. One seems more like a jam recipe as says to boil and the ratio of sugar to fruit is quite high. The other seems not to have too much sugar in it and some lemon juice but from the recipe I cannot see it storing for long and it says to store in the fridge. Would be most greatful of tried and tested recipe ideas and an indication of shelf life. Thank you
  8. http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=78 It is under the sheffield special interest groups
  9. Depends how close you want to live to the city centre. Places surrounding Rother Valley country park may be good for walks but not many pubs I can think of. We live in Harthill (S26 - a bit of a way out of sheffield), lots of places to walk in the country side and around the reservoir and 2 pubs both with beer gardens and outdoor seating. I would possibly try posting this in the Sheffield pet owners section under a heading of dog friendly areas in sheffield, you may get a more useful response as lots of dog owners on there.
  10. Thank you for the advice and replies I will pass the info to my parents. Mr Shaw, do you still deal with these types of matters at Nether Edge Law?
  11. Hi I tried this link but could not get it to work
  12. It is Derbyshire but and an ALMO dealing with it on their behalf, should they still be liable for the costs same as SCC?
  13. My parents relatively recently bought an ex council property (pre-fab) and have now been approached that the area is being re-develped and their house could potentially be compulsory purchased. They have had a meeting and have been given options but have been told to seek independent legal advice. Can anyone recommend a solicitor with experience in this area as want someone who has dealt with something similar in the past to advise? Thanks, Sue
