I suppose for a treat one could always let the goldfish have a turn swimming in the bath, but you'd have to take the coal out first/.. And if you've been taken in by the "If it's safe in water, it's safe in Lux" hype. It's the spin dryer that kills them.

The shop was impulse. At the corner used to be the Albert Pub, (The Cole Brothers building was built on the site of the Albert Hall which burnt down in the 1930s). Just up Division Street was a former car showroom which became a burger restaurant opened by the brothers(?) who had the Chuck Ranch at Hillsborough.

Does Anyone Remember Norwood Hall Demolished In 1976
Hopman replied to GabrielC's topic in Sheffield History & Expats
I don't know if it will be mentioned in Mike Higginbottom's brilliant talk "Demolished Sheffield" next Monday 11th March at the Upper Wincobank Chapel, Wincobank Avenue S5 6BB (bus route 95/95A) .6-30 for 7pm. -
Hallam set a new record in the FA Vase the other week.

Mary Poppins Film Classification Now Raised To Pg
Hopman replied to iansheff's topic in General Discussions
Does it really matter what certificate the BBFC give a film of this vintage? I doubt the film would be shown in a cinema these days (where BBFC classification would be needed), but it could be seen on TV. -
This was the furthest Hallam had reached in the FA Vase; the previous record was the 4th round. To go out on penalties was a sickener, but to force the game to penalties was an achievement, Heroes all, Boldly going where no Hallam team had gone before. And attracting good gates for that level. Ten year ago they were lucky to get triple figures. Well played Hallam! p.s. They're at home Tuesday night.

Many Grid Locked Roads Around Meadowhall.
Hopman replied to mart's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
It took me over an hour to get from Meadowhall to Firth Park this evening. I started the journey at just after five and it was gone six when I reached home. -
Cirata shares have lost something like 95% of their value in the past 12 months...

It saddens me to see this is a story in the Daily Mail. I was hoping it might be a Sheffield Forum exclusive.

Is there any reason why a referee, after looking at the monitor, can use his common sense and suggest the VAR is misguided?

A surge in the Hydrogen market could be good for ITM in Sheffield.

Memories Of Sheffield Forum

I sometimes wonder if anyone graduated from Central University... -
It's a pity that there is no universal sign language that could be taught. BSL is fine for the UK, but what about other countries? Does the country have enough teachers to teach BSL?

No! If you're sending cards, you might need to put the card in the envelope and lick the envelope to seal it. Of course, if you wish to lick your received cards, make sure they don't come with glitter. (Not Gary!)
