  1. Does anyone know if theres access to Ecclesfield school while these road works are on? Apparently the main road is closed over night from today but theres a coach full of 50 children due back from Germany tonight and we've got no idea if they'll be able to get into the car park or not... No mention of it on the council road work website :-/
  2. Yes but the news teams have been reporting the story from outside Ecclesfield police station or they were this morning anyway. Haven't seen any news since but I imagine if she hasn't been found, they'll still be there.
  3. Its to do with the girl from Sheffield whos been missing almost a week, they fear she's been abducted (see the post at the top of the main page) Its been on Sky and BBC news all day.
  4. Does anyone happen to know if they do a childrens/junior menu at the Turkuaz? Fancy going with the kids and they're happy to eat the Turkish food but need smaller portion sizes. There's no mention on their website but thought Id ask on here in case anyone knows. Thanks.
  5. I agree the staff all do an amazing job! Glad your little girl is ok. Regarding parents sleeping there, I spent quite alot of my childhood in and out of the Childrens, sometimes for weeks at a time and parents weren't allowed to stay. I certainly never remember any parents staying over on the wards, it just wasn't the done thing. Im 38 by the way so it wasn't that long ago. About 11 years ago, my eldest was rushed to the childrens as a tiny baby and was admitted. I was heartbroke at first and said I couldn't bare to leave her, and couldnt believe it when they said I could stay! I spent 4 nights on a camp bed and there was only one child who didnt have a parent with her at night (incidently, I only saw the parent twice for about half an hour each time the whole time I was there...felt so sorry for that little girl) I was very grateful for the fact that they now allow parents to stay with their children but I appreciate it must be so hard for some parents who have other children to consider too.
  6. Ah that might explain things then.. and thanks for the tip! ---------- Post added 18-03-2013 at 20:05 ---------- Thank you Marmoore!
  7. Thanks everyone, much appreciated! Seems a mixed bag of replies so will keep my fingers crossed on the day! At least I know its not going to be a definate "no!"
  8. Aw sorry to hear that you were alone, must have been annoying when other people had some one with them. We normally conform so Im really pleased Ive asked the question now. Gosh, I will be glad when this is all over.. Thank you!
  9. Phew!!! Thats great news, thank you so much for replying! I wonder why it states that they can't stay in the booklet then Im not one to make a fuss, but Im so scared I was thinking about it lol...Thanks again.
  10. Hi, Im having day surgery soon and have been reading the booklet they give you about Theatre Admissions and it states that due to lack of space and privacy of others, relatives can only drop you off and collect you when you're ready to go home. I was pressuming the hubby could be there for a while before I go to theatre (got to be there for 7.30 and dont know what time I'll be having op) and would be able to be on the ward while I recover. Does anyone know if they're strict about this? I know this sounds a bit pathetic, but Im already petrified and even more so now He's said he doesnt want to go home so I guess he'll be drinking lots of coffe in the cafe! Would be nice to hear from anyone that can confirm that a relative/friend has been allowed on the ward for a short time at least Thanks
  11. I saw it too...best bit of tv Ive seen for ages Have to admit I wasn't expecting them to bring Curtis on and I was cringing a bit when they did (it was slightly awkward at first!) but we got a happy ending so all's well
  12. I'll second the above! Steve taught my daughter to swim, and she used to love going to lessons. Its a really small pool so class sizes are small, some days there were only 3 or 4 of them!
  13. My hubby has just made it in to work from Chapeltown-City centre but said it was a struggle. Cowley Lane sounds bad and 1 car has crashed there already and a lorry driver stuck at the bottom...rush hour is going to be fun and games! Take care peeps.
