The original cast were brilliant, we saw the 30th anniversary show, and the supposedly farewell tour at Sheffield Arena. The changes over the years have not impressed me. -

Bought my 1966 BSA Bantam KRB 725 D from Charlie in 1967, cost me £100.00. Passed my test on it, as did my brother and a load of mates. Traded it in for a 1961 Norton 99SS, 905 UPK that cost me £145.00 in 1967. Had it until 1971 when I sold it to get married. The bike doesn't seem to be around any more, but the wife is! -

Bob, do you remember Pete Pethick who also travelled from Parson Cross? He was a very good runner and we were in the same class. I was part of the contingent who came over from Swallownest Secondary for a couple of years before going back to Aston Comp. I think the Malcolm you refer to was Lips combe, not sure of the spelling, and I vaguely remember the French teacher. -
Absolutely disgraceful vandalism. We only passed it a couple of weeks ago from Whitley Bay to Vindolanda, a journey we have made over 20 times. The judicial system should make an example of him, but I fear it won't.

We live in Rotherham so Woodhead is our usual route to get to the link road, otherwise it's up to the M62 and across or down towards Birmingham and across.

Went last week and loved the town. We drove over Woodhead, followed sat nav round Manchester and Wrexham, Welshpool, Oswestry ? Took 3 hrs 45mins.

Stewart Nicholson on Rotherham Radio, brilliant presenter.

I'd never heard of Early Doors until I saw a post on here some months ago. Watched both series three times now, absolutely fantastic comedy, and the police help to make it for me. Also watched another one, Two Doors Down, similarly entertaining.

Probably best known to many for his role as Joe in the Royle Family comedy sitcom, Peter was an excellent singer who played many of the Sheffield Working Men's Clubs. RIP.

They were based after Manvers Road, Beighton and also had a car sales run by Fred Atack who did it part time while he worked at the NCB Fence Workshops. I worked with him and bought quite few Vauxhall Cavaliers from him. He took pride in looking after his customers, many like me who returned regularly. He took redundancy and built the business up before moving it to a huge new site at Mosbrough. He sold it when he retired a good few years ago to Burrows.

As a local union official at Fence Workshops, I attended two of the funerals. We organised a concert at Swallownest Miner's Welfare with all the artists, top group Jade, Verne Walker Duo and Rex Miller connected to the NCB. Proceeds went to the families affected. The Workshops were on 24 hour operation to supply any equipment needed for this horrendous incident.
