  1. So what do you think would be happening now if Scotland had voted overwhelmingly to break from the UK in their referendum but the English MPs decided to vote against that split?
  2. Canada and USA have a common border. We have to pass through border control to enter and leave USA. I work in USA but need a permit. We trade perfectly freely but don't have to be governed by them and don't pay them money just because they happen to be next door. More importantly we aren't governed by whatever idiot they decide to put in charge .
  3. Why would he be bothered about being an MP. He's an MEP isn't he and earns rather more than British MPs. If he were a UKIP MP all he would be is a minor thorn in the government with less influence than Tim Farron. As an MEP he gets to rattle the cages of the EU commissioners, ensuring they will be glad to see the back of him and the rest of the UK MEPs.
  4. They seem to be doing pretty well by all accounts. The electorate certainly seem to think so. http://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/polls.html Perhaps they just don't appeal to you.
  5. I read on the internet that he is actually a space alien, but then they said the same about Obama. I suppose you just choose to believe exactly what you want to believe and pass it on as the truth. The truth is that's how missinformation gets spread.
  6. Well it would presumably focus their minds. If I remember correctly most of them voted no confidence in their own leader to put up a credible alternative. I'm struggling to think of any other options.
  7. Why does it have to be in someone's top three concerns for it to be important to someone. If someone is a vegetarian it isn't likely to be in their top 3 concrns in life unless you take them to a restaurant at which point it becomes their highest priority.
  8. I'm not sure that 50 MPs voting no to Article 50 is going to make much difference. I presume you actually mean voting against triggering the provisions of Article 50 which is starting the formal process of the UK leaving the EU. But 50 MPs out of 650 isn't really going to rock the boat.
  9. Wow if that gets you down, this will really wind your spring. We went to watch a band playing in a local pub. The queue at the bar was massive, so we nipped into the other bar and got served straight away and then took our drinks back through and watched the band.
  10. Well I didn't have to check the facts as the program was aired on the run up to the elections. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/simpsons-predicted-trump-presidency-back-2000-213536915.html Oh the irony. So if the predictions are correct the next president after Trump should be Lisa Simpson.
  11. This has nothing to do with the media anymore as it now it seems that those investigating are concluding that Nick was a fantasist and are considering charging him with perverting the course of justice. I know that's not what you want to hear as you were desperate for some smears to stick to the VIPs simply because of who they were. Most people are now wondering if it was right to destroy the reputations of people who live by those reputations all because of allegations from one person who appears to be somewhat unhinged.
  12. I think you will find that was in an episode of the Simpsons, but if you think that is real life then that's up to you.
  13. What about mixed race soldiers? Do they have to stand in front of a PAN color chart to see if they qualify. I had always thought the Ghurkas were one of the most celebrated in the entire armed forces. Not many haven't heard of them and not many think they are white.
  14. I agree. Red poppies are to signify the poppies that grew in the shell holes on the battlefields and the blood that spilled. I wonder what would happen if someone suggested white poppies to commemorate the white soldiers that fell?
