  1. I would not be laid awake in my bed nor would I be on hear if this utter garbage had not woken me. Yes ear plugs are a great invention, as is double glazing but both are rendered pointless when the sound systems are so large that these, bouncy up and down, fantastic organising, selfish people use, that the vibrations from the base is more frustrating than the noise. Now forgive me if I'm wrong, but no Amount of ear plugs can stop vibrations through the floor!! I'm all for people having a good time and hey even enjoy a good party myself. It's just infuriating when a select few that go that one step further and become a nuisance and cause folk disruption through being inconsiderate.
  2. A couple of years ago I remember something similar and not quite as loud happening and it was an open air rave in the middle of grenoside woods.
  3. I'm in ecclesfield and I have friends in shirgreen and shirecliffe which can also hear it! It woke me about an hour ago. It sounds one minute like it's in my garden then sound a good few miles away. Can feel the base through the bottom of the bed.
  4. I can offer you no advice only my deepest sympathies. I had a council flat in S13 for best part of 3 years. for 2 of those I had been on with SCC regarding anti social behaviour, vandalism and threatening neighbours. after 2 years of complaining and filling in weekly reports about the same people and issues, we were no further forward. I ended up, for the sake of my own sanity and sense of security moving to the opposite side of the city and starting afresh. Every other day I was negotiating with the same people at SCC and just did not get any further with resolving the issue. its horrible and scary what you are going through and I can only hope that you find some sort of resolution soon for the sake of you and your daughter.
  5. I've Just had a look at this website, it looks very professional and appear to know what they are talking about and reasonably priced. Just a shame there are no reviews to be found to back it up.
  6. I'll get some taken this week and gladly share. We moved house a couple of months back and it stressed my fish out quite a bit and we sadly lost a couple but its all now back upto full strength and looking healthy again so slowly starting to replace what we lost. Thanks Notreve i will give this place a try at the weekend. Do you know any reputable online "breeders"/stockists incase thats the only way i can get so more obscure looking ones?
  7. I had no idea Jollyes did live animals, i thought it was just food and accessories etc. I shall try there. I thought the Elm Lane place had gone. is it still there?
  8. I have a temperate aquarium with plenty of Yamato shrimp, and would like to introduce some more colourful shrimp to the tank. Does any one know of anywhere that sells a range of shrimp near to the S5 area? Pets at Home advertise different types but only ever have Yamato. Any suggestions will be gladly received.
  9. I am a disabled driver who lives on Skelton Grove. It is extremely tricky to park anywhere near my house due to the amount of patients visiting the doctors parking on our street. I just hope and prey when they make the changes outside the doctors they do make sufficient parking spaces so the new yellow lines dont push people further round onto our street making it even harder for residents to get parked on an already busy street, especially those who have difficulty in walking like myself.
  10. I think what get SCC tenants so upset and angry and feel ripped off is that the prices increase year on year and the services/maintenance gets poorer and poorer. Yes the council rents are much cheaper than private renting but people live in council accomodation for a reason. I work full time and pay for everything, full rent, council tax etc. I would love to be able to move, but unfortunately my income means i have no choice but to stay where i am in unloved, poorly maintained SCC accomodation. Just as examples,a leak in my bathroom at the beginning of last October meant the whole wood boxing round my pipes and flooring had to be taken out and replaced. This took until Xmas week to be completed. I have a front room window that moves in the wind yet to be looked. There was a serious incident where i live thats caused quite a bit of damage to the communal area a fortnight ago, repairs and maintenance on that area only started yesterday. i could go on, so maybe people will now understand a little when others complain about where they live. Some of us do not have the luxury or choice to move some where "better" but that does not mean we should have to put up with this kind of stuff.
  11. I totally agree that this sign is way too bright! I travel the parkway at tea time heading from the city towards the motorway and this sign is too much! The street lighting is poor which i think it makes the sign appear worse. but the amount of times i have seen people break suddenly when the advertisement changes, its only a matter of time before someone crashes. I even know trained police officers who have complained about the sign being too bright and distracting.
  12. I tried these for both a carpet and a sofa just over a year ago and they were awful. Arrogant and didn't/wouldn't listen to what i needed/wanted. They ended up with no sale! However as i had already had my heart set on a particular sofa i did end up using the SCS at Parkgate Rotherham and they were the polar opposite. Friendly, helpful and weren't at all pushy. I would seriously recommend this branch!
  13. Right thanks for that, i'm obviously a little more useless than i thought!! Maybe getting my hands on some instructions would be advantageous to me!!
  14. Im new to the whole games console thing and received a PS3 as a gift for xmas. Can any tell me if there is a wireless connection you can buy for it to connect it to the internet as if i were to use a cable it will literally have to run the full length across the middle of my living room floor. I have no idea what to look or search for so any advice you can give needs to be gentle and straight forward!! Many Thanks in advance.
  15. I feel for you, my sister has been suffering with the same issue for the last couple of years with nothing sorted as of yet, she owns her home and the couple next door are council and she has had no joy with council or authorities. She has 2 small boys and they have regualrly complianed of the smell that comes into there bedroom. they live in a middle terrace and the smell regularly permeates through into my sisters. Dont know how but it does and its very unpleasant so i feel your pain and frustration. Not fair when little kids are involved!
