  1. I will be moving house soon and the new apartment doesnt have a washing machine. I was wondering whether there is a launderette in the city centre I can do my washing till I buy a washing machine. I will be moving to shoreham street. I dont mind walking a bit either. Also how much do the laundrettes charge? A few years back in my student accomodation it was £2 per wash
  2. i am particularly interested about shefflets. has anyone had any good/bad experiences with them?
  3. My rent contract will be ending in may and I want to move to a new place. I have checked online and found a few good apartments but I'm not sure whether the lettings agents are any good. The place I am living in now was rented through the company that owned the whole building at the time so I didnt have to go through extra processing fee. but now things have changed and now its a new company and I dont really like them. A few months ago I had a viewing with Martin&Co and it didn't go well and was also informed by someone that they arent good and charge out of your deposit for even a scratch on the wall.... I have researched on the popular lettings agents but most of the reviews are bad. I need to find a good lettings agency that does not charge too much for referencing/processing fee etc.
  4. I was actually browsing for aparmtnets for rent earlier today. Used to live in The Cube in Shoreham Street (next to Trigon) a couple of years back as a student. But the upper 2 floors are for professionals. And they are also selling the apartments. There is a 1 bed penthouse for sale there for £52,000. Im not that good on market prices for houses but that sounds like a bargain to me. I wish i had the money so i could buy it right now! The Cube is a lovely place to live in and I have had no issue at all> Actually been looking for partments to rent there but the problem for me is that they are unfurnished!! http://www.findaproperty.com/for-sale/property-10383844
  5. So im looking for high street clearance shops. I found the Next Clearance shop by accident a couple of years back. (got down from the wrong bus stop and there it was!) Found a few good deals there but nothing impressive. Im wondering whether there are any other high street clearance shops in Sheffield? Not talking about places like TKMAxx or TJ Hughes though. i want places like top shop clearance or something similar?
  6. 300 including bills? seriously?? when was that? i have to pay atleast 700 a month total cos the bills are so high. the winter months bills were around 300 a month! and i dont really even switch on the heaters all the time. plus i rarely put the lights on!
  7. thanks guys. i'l check 99p first. suddenly had the urge to play with the beach ball inside the house. lol. used to do that all the time when i was a kid. hahah.
  8. well the so called window cleaners havent cleaned the windows for the last year actually. and in contrast to what one person stated earlier, the flats below the 11th floor, ie is from 1-10 have larger kitchens. u have to pay 50 pounds more for the higher floors. they have have 2 types of studios. both could accommodate a double bed and have separate bedroom areas. 8 one beds. and a two bed which is faar above anyones budget. hahah. the prices start from 495. but thats for the studios. the cheapest one bed is about 550. and the biggest one with a lrger kitchen, big bedroom and the big balcony is 625. but they were giving it for 600 last year. there is only ONE lift. not two. they say that they are currently working on the second one but i wouldnt hold my breath. the place is not damp but can get very cold in winter and very hot in summer cos of the glassy effect. the blinds dont really provide much heating. lol. i have to say that the apartments do look really nice. however the awkward shapes make it hard to place furniture. the double glazing and sound proffing must be working in the back but the ecclesall facing apartments suffer a lot from the roundabout below. when i went for my viewing i wanted to go to the balcony and check it out but the lady told me that she doesnt have the key. i was impressed with the apartment and i was in a hurry to move so i paid the deposit the next day and only after i came to the apartment afterwads did i found out that the balcony door doesnt need a key! and its very noisy when u open the door. i was really upset and they said that the deposit was non refundable. however i really like the apartment other than for the noise issue. having only one lift isnt really working cos sometimes i have to wait for about 7 minutes till the lift comes. my contract is ending soon and i have decided not to extend it though. as much as i love the apartment, the noise issue and wating for the lift for ages is putting me off extending the contract. oh and also there IS a bath in the bathroom. only some apartments come with a shower. the corner shop issue isnt a big problem either cos waitrose isnt that expensive when it comes to vege and essentials. also i prefer it to aldi cos the quality is a thousand times better. the moor sainsburys is also about a five minute walk away. bathroom sink is big. quite larger than most bathroom sinks iv come across. i dunno how the other person saw a small one. the furniture and appliances are very high tech and modern and look really good but very fragile. however, it would be the perfect place for me if it was in a better location away from the noisy main road.
  9. i want to buy a beach ball. u knw the plastic thing that u inflate by blowing?
  10. i hope got the issue sorted. same thing happened to me. i waited a few days and retuned and found them. bbc 1, 2 and 3.
  11. try tesco. they have amazing deals most of the time. I got mine for 339 and its about 399 atleast in other places. go to the website and check for deals.
  12. Hi. Im looking for a place that would be under 20 pounds. Im a student so it'll be really great if that place has student discounts. Somewhere near the city centre or ecclesall road would be ideal. I desperately need to change my hairstyle as I've had it for as long as i can remember! Im a girl btw.
