  6. true smell doesn't but I suppose they are hoping that the negative connotations with 'being smelly' might help younger people to give up..... sorry just realised that the comment I was talking about realtes to a point made a few pages ago....DOH! if I could spell relate that is lol! bad day clearly!!
  7. Hi Gang! In my on going saga of getting the house refurbished I have been told by the council that for the work I need to do I would be required to submit a Buildings Regulations Application. This would need to include drawings detailed enough to get their seal of approval, ie the certificate. As I am trying to keep costs down, I am loathed to go to an Architects practice as I know they will charge the earth. Can anyone recommend or know of someone who could put together said drawings for a reasonable fee? Any help would be much appreciated!
  8. if anything like our place where it's open plan - germs are living in paradise...one person sneezes or sits there with a cold spreading germs and we all get it.....plus most of my colleagues have an aversion to natural light as well!- maybe they're all vampires! arrgghh!!!
  9. Well if I was a betting man I wouldn't bother with the basic one - its the cheapest but then again they tell you sod all and would probably entail them driving past the place to see if it is still standing. Homebuyers is more expensive but can give you a good idea of anything that could potentially need doing or things that you may be able to negotiate the price with....this is generally the middle of the road option. There is a third option which is the most expensive and you would have to be looking at a really run down place to fork out on that one.....my advice would be go for the home buyers to give you a good idea of what you are getting for your money.....a few quid extra spent now could save you a load more later! I used the Homebuyers as the one for the property i bought and knocked some off the price for the damp proofing work required - good luck!
  10. right on a more serious note the bird is doing a short film for her media course relating to a topical event that is newsworthy....with that in mind she is looking to interview any butchers etc that have an involvement in National Sausage Week that are in Sheffield...so if anyone knows of specific events taking place that she could film. interview etc it would be muchly appreciated Ta
  11. have you used these people before? did they do a satisfactory job? will check them out cheers!
