Sorry- I think you've mis-understood. I am happy to pay someone, but want more than, just a 'yeah its not a supporting wall' hence the reason for the post asking for reccommendations of 'Professionals' :-) ---------- Post added 23-01-2014 at 14:53 ---------- I have called one company and they have quoted £250+ VAT. Seems very expensive, but looks yes would rather pay than my house fall down. Thanks -
We are wanting to remove a wall between hallway and living room, so we can have an open plan living room with stairs in. We can get the work done ourselves no problem, but I think I may need someone to call in and tell us if the wall is load bearing. Not only that, we removed a chimney breast and supported it when we moved in, so advice about this/how much load the wall is bearing etc would also be required. Does anyone know what type of person does this? Structural engineer? I don't want to pay £100's for someone to come out and say- yep thats a supporting wall so if anyone can reccommend someone that would be ace.

Knocking walls down in vic hallam houses??
icklesweet replied to icklesweet's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Thanks. I had planned on contacting someone, however I just thought I would ask if anyone else had done this. I realise a standard house would probably have to have a RSJ put in but as vic hallam homes I thought were like a box and the walls are all hardboard, I wondered if they were like partitioned walls, so not supporting anything and could just be moved. I will look into it. Thanks -
Knocking walls down in vic hallam houses??
icklesweet posted a topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Can anyone advise if vic hallam walls are supporting walls or if a wall can simply be taken down? Thinking of removing wall between kitchen and diner and putting wall in between large living room. All walls are hardboard so didn't think they would support anything. Has anyone else done this? Can't seem to find anything on web Thanks -
I've used V Lookup and it works great! Thanks for responses!!

Does anyone know how to use the IF function in excel. I've been following a tutorial and I get the basic function, however I have a number of arguements so wonder if I am using the right function. Basically my formula is IF Cell B1 = 1.1 the value of 6.99 is given BUT I also want to include, if it reads 2.1 another value is given, if it reads 3.1 another value and so on .... Any help is appreciated.

I was thinking of having something like this at my wedding, but my budget is pretty limited. Anyone have an idea how much something like this might cost?
