  1. I agree, there's usually a better option than posting here. SF these days is populated by people who want to discourage others from posting! Back on topic, I work about a mile down the road in Brightside and we've been plagued all summer by flies. Seems to be getting better now tho......
  2. LOL, I wasn't involved. There's still a window to fit, and the bathroom door wont close.
  3. I'm sorry for people who don't have a home...but I have this one because I work and pay the rent, there's no luck involved. I'm not moaning about a small amount of decorating, I'm moaning about having to find somewhere else to sleep, wash and do my laundry which should all be covered by my rent. I don't think this is unreasonable.
  4. Hello Playmates! Sheffield Homes have recently carried out work at my home under the 'Decent Homes' scheme. Those of you who have had this done will have some idea of the horrors this entails, so I'll not bore you with a blow by blow account here. Suffice it to say that as a shift worker I was unable to sleep at the property on several occasions, had no toilet or cooking facilities on other occasions, and suffered almost 6 weeks of mess, damage and general misery (and it's not finished yet, even tho it's been signed over). My question is: Are Sheffield homes justified in charging me full rent for the whole period of the works? I am looking for compensation for the disturbance and stress caused, in addition to that for breakages and damage caused. Constructive opinions and the usual rants will be welcomed warmly...
  5. If your walking or driving down West Bar today, take a look up the side of the police station. About half way up you will see Lara looking out of a window, watching the traffic!
  6. In answer to the op... If we're talking about food and drink only, then £35.00 per week is more than enough to live on. you could not cover the cheapest of rents however, and if you need to travel (for interviews, signing on, food shopping etc) you can take £10 to £15 pounds per week out of that again. To put that another way, do you mean £35 plus housing benefit and council tax benefit? If so the answer is you can survive on it, but I wouldn't call it living. If no, then you will be homeless very quickly.
  7. Three important notes here: 1. Viagra does not claim to enhance your performance unless you have a medical issue which it can help with. 2. As stated elsewhere, the side effects can be quite unpleasant and potentially deadly if you have a pre existing circulatory disease, or take certain medicines. 3. ED can be an indicator of other more serious issues, which is another good reason to get it checked properly. Lastly, I am not medically trained; all of this info is easily found via google!
  8. In fact it increases the concentration in the blood stream, which makes side effects more likely.
  9. It doesn't give you a hard on. It helps you to sustain an improved erection, but you still have to obtain said erection in the traditional ways. Chances are he left early because he felt nauseous and had a blinding headache.
  10. Would have been even better if he had died! 2 x 100mg tabs could make someone very unwell indeed!
  11. Trouble with that is, you have to tell everyone you (hardly) know when it all goes manky....
  12. I think this is the single most bigoted post I have ever seen on this forum. Rather than produce a rational discussion, anyone who doesn't agree with you one hundred percent is branded a liar, a bigot and a racist. You obviously believe that if you say it often enough, and loud enough, then it will stick. I could easily twist your words the way you have tried to twist mine but that would serve no purpose. I suggested that people stowed away on banana boats, I made no reference to race, nationality or religion. These factors were introduced by yourself. You are trying so hard to make my post sound racist that it is beginning to sound like you are yourself bigoted in the extreme. You invited me to walk around Pitsmoor with a sign saying that people came to Britain on banana boats. I don't know what the people there would make of the sign, but you can get shot in Pitsmoor for going for a haircut, so I think I will give it a miss.
  13. I was born in Sheffield mate but my parents were from Jamaica. My uncle fought in World War 2 along side English soldiers, for the Jamaican and Commonwealth armies. That is why I feel incensed by you banana boat theory. The majority of immigrants from the 50's & 60's were ASKED to come and help the British services as there was not enough people taking the crappy jobs. The remark made by the elderly lady was a well known saying in days gone by. I have recounted the what I believe to be the origin of that saying in good faith, and regardless of whether you agree with it's historical accuracy or not, that is not racist. I am also aware that many people came to this country in the 50's and 60's expecting a warm welcome, and were rewarded with crappy jobs, crappy accommodation and racist abuse. Isn't it ironic then that thousands of British people were sailing to Australia at about the same time, to be greeted with similar crappy jobs, crappy accommodation and racist abuse?
  14. First of all, I will thank you not to call me a bigot or a liar unless you have evidence to support these statments. As I an neither, then you will find this difficult. Secondly, neither I nor the person I quoted mentioned The HMS Windrush in any decade, making your post complete rubbish. Thirdly, banana is spelt thus 'BANANA'; I refuse to be called a liar by someone who cannot spell. Fourthly, I made no statements about the commonwealth, or British rule in the Carribean, I simply suggested that there was a well known practice of stowing away on Fyffes banana boats, which brought the fruit to this country, via there depot originally based in Cardiff dock and later at Barry dock. I rarely say things that I don't know to be true. I worked on Cardiff dock in the 70's and I don't remember seeing either you or HMS Windrush there.... although I did meet some idiots there......
