Hiem were OK live Only went to Plug to see Ivan Smagghe who was also booked that night, but when I got there I heard he was unable to attend because of illness. Proper gutted about that. But it didn't matter. The big guy in Hiem span some quality tunes in the small room in his DJ set. Anyone who was in there then knows how amazing it was.

Yeah, I'm also intrigued by this, but want to know a bit more. Is UNIQ the venue that used to be Orchis? Is it along the lines of Gilles Peterson, Jazzanova, Bugz In The Attic, et al?

I wouldn't say funky house is dead mate - think of it this way, if all you ever heard in every club, on every night was progressive house, you would soon get bored of it. (I much prefer progressive house to its funky cousin BTW)

Yeah, the pool tables are too close together in that big area at the far end. More tables mean more £££££, so I can understand why they have done it..... and that they are unlikely to change it..... so if you want more space aim for the two either side of the far end bar or the two on the lower level next to the table football
