  1. Treloy........ we have just booked for the summer, cam on good recommendation from two friends who went last year and are going again with us this year.
  2. Callow Top, if you want an outside pool and mini disco....near Ashbourne.
  3. do you want to move to be closer or would you rather care be provided for the rest of the time? I would advise that you ask for a re assessment of her needs by social services if her care needs have changed so much since she was last assessed.
  4. I am a parent of a child with ADHD and ASD. I also work in this area and have done for the last 20yrs. Do you want support for him or for yourself to help you deal with the support he needs from you? just trying to get an idea of what you need help with.
  5. you need to ring social services and ask for an assessment, if she is in sheltered accommodation then I would hope that the "warden" or person in charge of that scheme should know who you need to ring. Your Nana is entitled to an assessment fo her needs and then the fight begins to get that support. I suggest that you keep a record of all situations that happen that worry you and others sot hat you have good clear examples to give when they come to assess. You can make that phone call on her behalf. You are also able to go and talk to her GP if you have concerns.
  6. My son is 8 and succesfully attends the local mainstream school. He has a diagnosis of ASD and ADHD. I have sent you a mess.
  7. I understand that King Egburts has a large number of children who are on AS studying there. I believe that there is a specialist unit. Why don't you contact the Sheffiled autisic Society and ask them...they are achually meeting tonight..
  8. http://www.mencap.org.uk/case.asp?id=542 Mencap have been doing an awful lot of work getting people to email their MP's and asking them to take part in what they are trying to d for people who need respite. They are the countries leading organisation in this area of support and need everyone help to push things forward for everyone. I myself have worked with young adults leaving residentional college coming back to sheffield and not wanting to return to the family home...and after all why should they when they have just spent three years away at college. The accomodation team, part of social services used to specialise in this area.....not sure if they still exist
  9. I've tried to read most of the posts but there are so many...I work in Crookes and feel that it is better than woodseats where i live because at least you can park. Wesley Hall Methodist Church has just resently opened a cafe in the church hall, we have been in when we've had training days and they are very happy to accomodate any tastes especially if you give them notice. I believe that it is run by or part funded by Banardo's, so you will be waited on by some teenager who is trying to pull things back together. It's not really churchy at all, they've just got a useable big kitchen so don't be put off, Richard is on of the tutors. Give it a go, it the sign is out on the pavement then they are open and its cheap...
  10. I drive past every day at 7.30am, some days he's there and some he's not...at the moment he some days also has a dog with him and no bike! toot the horn and you get a wave
  11. the same thing is run at the Alphabet Zoo the same day and time for younger children, thats near meadow hall.
  12. They do clear the water out every year, and the watger is dyed blue for some reason!! I go every saturday morning and not worried if water goes down a bit more then i won't have to watch my son as closely when he's near the edge....
  13. Tarrents at broomhill, the man is called Mark and I have never felt ripped off at all. Its just behind the stationary shop in broomhill at the traffic lights. Oh yes I don't work there either I just think that they are really nice and helpful. Tel 2661362
  14. there is a Netto in Walkely not Crookes but thats where i think this person means, there is a small off road parking bay for about two/three cars.
