I've found and uploaded you the classic clip of Phil Harding being dragged towards the rollers before he had the good sense to let go ........ I think the year is 2004. Take a look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phPVSMl7JVk

Well .... the sign above the window says "hardware". The shop is crammed full of everything, mostly second hand stuff. When he is open the driveway at the side is full of things and you can never see through the shop window ...... take a look at the link below. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=holme+lane+sheffield&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ie=UTF8&hl=en&hq=&hnear=Holme+Ln,+Sheffield,+United+Kingdom&ll=53.400082,-1.509998&spn=0.002277,0.004823&t=h&z=18&layer=c&cbll=53.400107,-1.509858&panoid=FrKHtWm-Rp4FTJZBG568Lw&cbp=12,308.05,,0,7.5

Vision Windows on Cuthbert Bank Road S6 are suppliers and fitters of Smart Systems aluminium glazing system. I've not used them so I can't vouch for them. Google Smart Systems to see their products.

Also on Claywheels Lane was Clay Wheel Forge opposite the junction of Limestone Cottage Lane, theres an excellent video here: and a slideshow here: if you go over to the Sheffield History website you will find a thread regarding the forge, you will probably have to register to see their photos. Hope this helps.

Assuming you mean a cylinder mower not a flymo type. With the spark plug out ..... pull the cord ..... do the blades attempt to spin? if so it sounds as if the "clutch"/drive belts are not clearing/adjusted properly causing the resistance you can feel with the spark plug in.

One of the best programmes of Sheffield for some time. I have the original recording on DVD ........ have sent you a PM regards a copy.

Here's the video I promised ...... hope you enjoy it, despite the poor sound quality. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nRAzwgJWMF0

Hi red owl ....... Not sure if you've seen these videos on youtube http://uk.youtube.com/results?search_query=TREVOR+ABLETT+&search_type=&aq=f Regards the bow drill I think it was down to years of experience rather than any sort of jig. I have a short video somewhere of a bow drill being used in the making of a knife by a "Little Mester", it was used horizontally ..... knife in vice and the other end of the bow drill pressed into a belt around the makers waist. I will try to find you the video later today
