  1. apparently the ide are feeding well on lilly pond at aston park,, better stamp are coming out on choppy and caster and if fishing shalla, try double maggot rather than single !
  2. blades to finish 2nd or catch charlton,, wednesday to get to the play off final, and lose on penalties, that would do me nicely !!!!
  3. i seriously doubt anyone has ever done a "STRAIGHT SWAP" a "STRAIGHT SWAP" is puttin a new suite in place of an old,, and the price tag usually includes ifs and buts, think about it £300 -£350 for a days work ????? theres more than enough in those sorts of prices for any ifs and buts ! its easy to give a price for a straight swap without seeing it when your giving those sorts of prices, but if you want to be competative i agree 100% you need to see a job, the reccomendations thing can be a bit misleading aswell,, people have different standards,, i used a window fitter who was highly reccomended by wanna my old work buddies,, from bitter experience i can honestly say i wouldnt let him reglaze my garden shed, never mind my house !
  4. Whats with the lols sam ? alot of plumbers will charge those sort of prices and £300 is about the middle of the road ???? i have no doubt what with the current work situation the job will get done cheaper, but there are guys out there who would also charge more for a similar job ! dunno about the 2 men bit though,, 1 man could easily do this in a day based in an out and in swap !
  5. im a plumber by trade, but when doing full refurbs i will happily take on the tiling and joinery work that usually comes with a full refurb,, electrics is a big no no though,, wont even attempt to touch em, i am looking at getting into the trade sometime in the near future but there just seems to be so many qualifications !! wouldnt know where to start !
  6. MET Gas Services, installation and breakdown services, now installing dead rats, free with every boiler !! LOL sorry mickey,, couldn't resist it matey !!!
  7. wait a week or so and see if the smell gets any stronger !!! like andy says,, dead vermin whilst harmless, can smell foul !!!
  8. definately the toilet overflowing,, ive worked in those houses before lovey !!! because of the flat roofs most have combi boilers as there is no room for a decent head of pressure for a conventional/gravity system, boilers are usually in the kitchen next to the sink !!! a new ballvalve on your toilet or a simple diaphram on the existing one will sort it, should be a cheap fix !
  9. some manufactureres reccomend leaving them free standing,, thats why alot dont come with securing points or fixing straps ! have a look if there are any points for fixing,, if not, i wouldnt bother,, perhaps sit it on some sort of foam ! but like spider says,, most, if not all shower pumps are noisey ! if its in an airing cupboard you could go to an accoustics store and buy some sound deadening foam and cover the inner walls of the cupboard with foam , lokks a little like underlay!! once new a guy who did this and it made a great difference !
  10. i used to live on the end of outram road, thats at the bottom of bassett,, next to where the old nursery used to be,, lived on wybourn all my life, still here now on southend road near the farmers field/manor castle,,, lived down near bassett till i was 21 and im 31 now,, it was always a pretty decent area to be honest,, i have a good few freinds that still live on bassett road aswell,, i cant imagine it has changed much in the last 10 years and i know theres a good few private houses on that road now so that has to tell you something itself !!!
  11. as per usual, its the people who dont live on the wybourn estate who talk about it like its moss side,, you havent got a clue,, ive lived on the wybourn all my life and if anything,, its 10 times better than it was,, fair enough, back in the mid 90's it had a bad reputation,, mainly for car chrime,, thats now a thing of the past, cant remember the last time i saw or heard of a car being stolen on our estate,, suppose its always gonna have the stigma attatched to it for being a bad estate, but how can you shake a bad reputation when numb nuts who know nothing about it are still out there putting it down,, there are some fantastic people living on the wybourn, and fair enough there are some not so "fantastic" people aswell !, but this can be said for just about every area of sheffield cant it , i know of someone who lives on a private estate and he's the same, he pulls the wybourn to peices but openly admits there are often drug gangs fighting and stabbings around his area ????? i wont mention the area because it would be unfair of me to make a judgement just off 1 mans say so !!! on the whole,, i wouldnt pay too much attention to those who dont actually live on the wybourn, the closest they probably get to the wybourn is passing gala bingo (very bottom of wybourn ) as they go down sheffield parkway on there way to work in the morning !!! incidently,, id like to add, ive lived on the wybourn all my life, and have never had a single bit of trouble,,, my cars have never been stolen or vandalised, and my house and garden shed have never been broken into !!! not bad that for moss side is it ?????
  12. the boards ive had up i can see from 1 end of the house to the other, but obviously only along that joist space !!! seems really bad at a certain point rather than every board that comes up ! cheers anyway lee !!!
