  1. ...i loved that hypothermia sketch. nick reynolds was a script-writing genius. and he knew it too. when taped pieces went out on air, he could be seen standing smiling to himself, and mouthing all the words.
  2. hehe! sorry about the missing last episode; i didn't realise it wasn't there...i shall post it if it turns up! the person who plays amos, i thought, was pete mersereux? pete
  3. http://www.freewebs.com/radiorott/ you can listen to eastemmerdalesidestreet on the link above!

  6. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b171/sheffieldarchives/people/DOGSOLDIERSINGERbypeterjones.jpg .....i have a picture of the guitarist knocking about somewhere too! pete
  7. ...there's now a whole r.o.t.t. website!: http://www.freewebs.com/radiorott/
  8. i spoke to ogi last week, he says there are some dig vis drill videos online too, some featuring the legendary squidman, which are especially worth seeing for those who remember and miss squid.
  9. here is what the hole in the road looked like years ago.....i took these in 1990 i think http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b171/sheffieldarchives/HOLEINTHEROAD.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b171/sheffieldarchives/HOLEINROADii.jpg
  10. .....just keep hanging around the bottom of the moor, particularly around poundland and the old home bargains store i regularly bump into him there. oddly he never seems to age. i reckon there's a frightening portrait of himself locked away somewhere in his high rise flat....
  11. i have the same album! in fact i've got a box-load of unsold copies! they were brought out by steve taylor, known now as stevlor, the eccentric and talented local photographer and all round media superstar! i had a track on the album; i think it was under the name loony tunes, and i was also drummer in ggf for a short while in late '88 - early '89. keep on rockin'
  12. if nightrun played the city hall band competition in '86, i was there! it was one of my first gig reviews for radio sheffield. my favourite band that night was the flexible penguins. i loved their song "reasons", and i liked the girl's voice.
  13. wasn't there a mass of snow in winter '76? i seem to remember walking knee deep in it up in ringinglow over christmas.... but as this thread is about sounds, i have to add: i love the sound of crunching snow!
  14. lol! very good melthebell! the gig under the bridge actually came about from a nasty prank by my big brother: "wait there," he said, leaving me in the park, "i'll be back in a minute!" i spent the next half hour alone, enjoying the acoustics of the bridge, and for ever after was hooked on rock 'n' roll. it has been downhill ever since....
  15. perhaps there is something very memorable about the song which has made us both remember it! for me, it was the line "where's your mama gone? (where's your mama gone!)" which got me. i was three, and so i thought it must be a kid's song with a line like that! now you can work out the year!
