  1. Would be nice to know if the OP has taken any advise given about turning off the power to the flat, and what happened, or have they got the money to pay this bill? & are ignoring the advise asked for?
  2. Turn your electric for your flat off at the meter - if the dial wheel is still turning then someone else is wired into your meter - if it stops wait for someone to complain their electrics gone off. Then get onto Landlord & NPower.
  3. Well - day-break - we know what happens to water when it freezes and tested it first. This is were Science lessons came in handy - 6" thick on the edges and 4" in the middle - always stayed round the outside. Can anyone remember when they had swans nesting on the pond?
  4. Frecheville Pond didn't have a fence round it when I lived up there - that was from 1946 - 1973. Nobody ever fell in as we were taught to respect water and what could happen if you fell in. It seems now that EVERYTHING has to be fenced off instead of teaching kids to be careful near Ponds & Rivers. The other thing about respecting Frecheville pond was, if you did mess about while they were fishing you got a clout from those fishing. Does anyone remember skating on the pond when it froze? Happy times.
  5. The Ad Reads " iPhone £225. Buy 3 for £600" - Do the alarm bells ring? Think so - Have people fallen for this? the answer is - YES - will they get their money back after giving the seller their bank details? The old saying "If it looks to good to be true then it is." Can you get your money back if you have been scammed? Gumtree take NO responsibility for ANY monitary transactions - Read their T & C.
  6. Found the best traffic calming solution last night on Tyler Street - OVER 250 Concerned residents and people who use this stretch of the road in a peaseful gathering as a mark of respect to Jan. We were amazed at the number of road users who even with all those people on the footpath came at speed towards the traffic lights, then wondered why they got glared at. Even one of those smiley/sad speed readers made a difference while it was at the top of the slope. But someone in their wisdom took it down. Maybe it used too much sunlight to power it. Thanks to all who attended. R.I.P Jan
